  1. I breathed an internal sigh of relief. I thought it was unlikely Trump would forget the whole "one small step" part of MAGA, but I was still worried. Obama was pretty good for human spaceflight all things considered, and I was worried that would be more muted with a Trump presidency in favor of affairs at home.

The pivot to Europa is interesting. Wonder why he's giving up on Mars, though.

ALL THESE WORLDS ARE YOURS - EXCEPT EUROPA.

    ATTEMPT NO LANDINGS THERE.

  2. ...Seriously? Bernie 2020? These guys know how old Sanders is, right?

Also, the Republicans also vowed to kick Barack out in 2012, it didn't happen. Trump is going to be here for 8 years (unless he chooses not to run), people should get used to that or there will be more crying in 2020.

To be fair, Trump is no Spring Chicken as well, and Bernie appears to still be in pretty good shape

  3. Erm, well for a lot of families they will actually save a shitload of money if ACA is repealed.

I know being Canadian you are worried that some people will be left out in the cold, but I don't think you fully grasp how absolute shit of a law the ACA is. Like, there probably are people who can afford coverage under it who wouldn't have been able to otherwise, but I don't know any of them. I don't think I know anyone who knows any of them. I don't think I've ever heard of them, except for in the administration's propaganda.

Actually, I do know someone who is in that situation. He has a form of blood cancer where the marrow is making far too many red blood cells. He's trying to get on disability and Medicaid, but for the past year his only option is ACA

  4. The basic thing my friends said is that the Democrats basically paid too much attention to Hispanics to the detriment of the white working class, which was a traditional Democrat base. The problem with that strategy is that Hispanics are not very reliable voters, and it cost them in this election.

They are hopeful for a purge in the DNC, but that remains to be seen, They appear to still be in shock.
