  5. YaK-130 for Belorus Tu-214 with MANPADS protection system
  6. They should have made HEAT damage directly connectee to how much HEAT jet penetrated before getting into internal voluma of the vehicle. IRL the more HEAT penetrated, the less energy it have to cause damage inside. Thats why HEAT are more effective against lightly armored vehicles - HEAT warheads have enough energy to do a lot of damage to insides. APFSDS should have been opposite of this - those rounds tend to do more damage to vehicle if they can dump all kinetic energy, which can happen only if it hit seriosly armored part of a tank or AFV. In case of light AFVs such projectiles can dump some noticeable amount of their energy only if they hit engine or something similar.
  7. Well, for a human even a one billion is so much more than what he can understand that he don't bother with accuracy. But now i have an image in my brain of a movie that explores this idea of total end, with humans (or somebody that were humans few billions years ago) in far future that have everything they ever could want, except that they know that the total end is near.
  8. Iranian Shahed-129 UAV crushed near Iran-Pakistan border
  9. Chassis of that TD looks familiar, but i don't remember where i saw it. Type 89 internal layout. Ammunition is in same places as with Merkava tanks (Siman 4 have several rounds in turret bustle)
  10. I don't know, Calli. Although it have IFV-like armor - around 50 mm in the frontal parts. Type 89 is like combination of Merkava, Gvozdika/Akatsia and Sprut-SD, modern SU-152 Taran :-D Rear door. Strange vehicle for modern days.
  11. AFAIK that thing mounted near muzzle is laser for training games. Type 89 is a TD that was made to counter hordes of Soviet T-72s. It is a primarly direct fire vehicle with 120 mm gun (later China accepted 125 mm guns for MBTs).
  12. First turret is Proriv-2 (T-90M turret) and second one is Burlak. Burlak had a turret bustle autoloader with blow out panels. Bustle sides were covered by active protection system, possibly a previous itteration of Afganit/Shtandart. Prototype of the Burlak turret on T-72 chassis, AFAIK. If you google T-72 Burlak turret, you can fimd more photos.
  13. Soviet future MBT programm had number of tank proposals with meter of frontal armor and some of them had layered side armor. "Nota" is Kharkov design that was under work for Russian MoD. IIRC several Boxers are left in Russia.
