As for the video itself. This is what you can expect in Seattle. People wandering around obliviously while a murderer with bloody hands is waving a bloody knife around, while a guy holding a handgun is trying to detain him. And the useless rent-a-cops in the video were as worthless as tits on a boar hog. And yeah, that was a rent-a-cop on a fucking Segway.
 
Also look at the moron with the mace, who was lucky he was stabbed to death. Which shows you how effective that shit is.
 
Further observation, Good Guy With The Gun did the right thing by immediately putting his gun on the ground when the Seattle Police finally decided to show up. 
 
 
 
 

I myself was just re-reading More on the Soldier's Load, and was re-acquainted with this graph:


 
This made me chuckle, because exactly two months after that article was written (to the dot, in fact), I started a new diet that actually worked very well. By January I had lost about 25 pounds, and with only that much weight loss (I was close to 300 previously) I was able to run up and down hills that previously would have left me winded at a walking pace. Others on this forum were there, @Collimatrix, @T___A, @LostCosmonaut, and Colli in particular can attest to the mobility difference between that year and the previous one. So my experience is right in line with that graph, where adding a mere ~10 pounds at the right end halves your range.
 
@Oedipus Wreckx-n-Effect is pretty much an expert on this subject, and the funny thing is that all this follows iron rules of human kinematics that have been established in athletics for decades. He can elaborate more, but basically the reason you see the perspectives that you do from infantry planners is that they know absolutely fuckall about how the human body works and performs, it's hilarious.

So the rifle is now basically done. I'm not happy with the charging handle but I know from experience that I'm just not going to be. So what's left is to make the buffer and spring, assembly of the fire control group, and some glamor shots.
