  1. You marked the left turret front as "380 to 400 mm" KE, but if it offered less than 400 mm protection, the portion of the tank's surface with "400 mm or more" KE protection would be far below the ~19.75% shown in the leaked graph. It is 40 mm thick.
  2. The radar emissions are much easier to spot from a distance. The range of a typical launcher based APS' radar is several times smaller than the range at which modern SIGNIT aircraft or ground-based radar systems can spot the vehicle. Also note that a radar doesn't allow you to spot the location of an ATGM squad or artillery system, if they are located outside the maximum range. Then the only option is to calculate the vector of the incoming round and extrapolate the possible location of the shooter based on this; ADS should be able to do the same.
  3. Seeing the scores from the last two SETCs and the Greek tests, it would certainly be better. Leclerc turret on Leopard 2 hull would not really offer any advantages (shorter gun, lower armor protection, less accuracy...). Re: topic title... it has yet to be decided how the MGCS will look. Concept phase hasn't really finished. Four proposals were made, the best one has yet to be found.
  4. APS systems and at which range they can be spotted by radar systems according to the ADS manufacturer...
  5. An undisclosed Asian country ordered ADS in 2011, when it wasn't ready for service. Maybe that's Singapore. On the other hand Turkey has been requesting the system since 2016... You mean like this?
  6. There were 13 tasks, the image shows only the scores of two.
  7. Germany won. https://www.dvidshub.net/news/280177/germany-takes-prize-strong-europe-tank-challenge-winner Sweden got the second place, Austria came in third. Like last year, the lower places probably won't be officially revealed.
  8. Yes, even their ministry reported that: http://www.mil.gov.ua/en/news/2018/06/05/strong-europe-tank-challenge-2018-offensive/
  9. Already adressed in other discussions. The conclusion is rather simple: it's not a reliable source, given the various incorrect statements in the article. As for your new protection estimate: that doesn't fit to the armor coverage. If ~19% of the total frontal surface should have at least 400 mm protection, then you cannot remove half of the area with this protection level from the previous model. That the right side of the turret is better protected is hardly a suprise given that the armor there is thicker and the armor block behind the EMES-15 will result in a much higher LOS path for flank shots hitting the upper half of the turret.
  10. Every AAV operator will in the short or mid-term consider buying a replacement. The KDNS vehicle seems to be a bit smaller than an AAV, but it's probably faster and better protected.
  11. Are the Netherlands looking for a "light" tank?
  12. Going back to this: Glacis plate seems to be a single layer of reactive armor with rather thick backwards moving plate. If there is anything behind the NERA sandwich, it is removed when attaching a dozer blade or mine clearing system. Turret armor seems to be three NERA layers at the side sections although mantlet probably has only one sandwich plate at the upper section.
  13. KMW and Nexter apparently developed a new amphibious vehicle. No idea if this will be KMW or Nexter branded...
  14. Apparently one of the T-84 tanks had a fire control system malfunction resulting in the low score. T-64s with upgraded FCS managed to get 329 points last year.
  15. Yes, they were originally meant to participate. But it is not the first time that some country had to cancel, the Czechs did that already in 2016.
  16. From the Strong Europe Tank Challenge 2018. The dispersion of five round fired by a Swedish Strv 122 (at just 500 metres distance). Interim results... note that Romania is missing (no show?).
  17. Finished product (except for the lacking camouflage painting):
  18. This Boxer will be presented at Eurosatory. It has been fitted with the latest version of the Skyranger turret (or maybe a photoshop variant of that). The Lynx KF41 will be revealed in two variants: an IFV with the new LANCE 2.0 turret will be revealed on Tuesday next week, while a command post variant will be revealed a day later.
  19. It is worth nothing that other German authors (like Lobitz) claim that the 8th batch already got D-technology armor (at least in certain spots like the light side skirts). That would alsoo explain why a graphic from the Swedish documents shows the third generation armor being used since 1991: (The eight batch was made between January 1991 and March 1992. The final tank was handed over to the German army on the 19th of March).
  20. In mid-May the Norwegian government announced that they have to buy new tanks, as there are no Leopard 2 tanks available for lease. Does this mean they are just looking at Leopard 2s or are other tanks also considered? The lower image seems to show the G5's suspension (the roadwheels are grouped in two pairs), the upper one however seems to show a M113G4 or similiar vehicle.
  21. Looks like the KF41 Lynx is going to be at Eurosatory:
  22. Leopard 2A6M2 with ELIAS and SPECTUS: https://www.defensie.nl/actueel/nieuws/2018/04/12/verbeterde-leopards-voor-duits-nederlandse-pantserbataljon http://www.janes.com/article/80374/dutch-german-tank-battalion-receives-first-leopard-2a6ma2
