The thing about the current state of the Democratic party is that it is absolutely in shambles. Without the progressive zeitgeist they have nothing. I'll need to find the clip of one of the dnc people screaming at the board about how most of their funds have been funneled to a handful of "consultants". It was kind of nuts to listen to.

I'd be more concerned about this little shakeup in the White House with Bannon were it not for the fact that historically there has been "weird shit" to quote @Walter_Sobchak quoting Dubya throughout the history of White House.
Andrew Jackson is famously quoted regretting that he didn't shoot Henry Clay or hang John C. Calhoun.
And of course Vice President Aaron Burr blew away Alexander Hamilton in a duel before being accused of treason.

Or how Woodrow Wilson was basically incapacitated after suffering a stroke for the final year of his presidency and his wife Edith essentially acted as the Executive.

    https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/woodrow-wilson-stroke

Or the run-of-the-mill marital infidelities of Warren G. Harding, or John F. Kennedy or Bubba Clinton or - as it has come to light - George H.W. Bush aka "David Coppafeel".

The biggest issue of electing a President who is not a politician and a political outsider is the fact that Donald Trump didn't have the Roladex of political contacts that a normal candidate like a Jeb Bush or Romney or Hillary Clinton has. If Donald Trump wanted to build a golf course in Wales or a Hotel in New Jersey, he has 40 years of contacts whom he could lean on to get the job done. But when it came to the election, Trump had to pretty much rely on the leavings what with the likes of JEB! or Rubio or Cruz gobbling up all the available political talent. Add to the fact that Trump's political campaign was very lean in terms of money spent, he didn't have too many quality foot soldiers he could plug into the White House when he got there.

Oh yes, that's likely - but don't forget that cuts both ways. How much you wanna bet the presidential handlers (a la Yes Minister) got more than they bargained for with the King from Queens?

Maybe? I mean I can see it both ways. It's clear that Azathoth does not really work the way we were taught in civics class. And I don't think I expect Trump to have understood the finer workings of Washington... But I also don't think Washington was prepared for Trump, either. The idea that Trump is putting people in the doghouse and generally running around knocking over people's houses of cards seems pretty plausible to me. And of course, the media would report this as "Chaos! Chaos! CHAOS!"

I think that's his most visible priority, because it's very deliberate. If they are busy talking about Two Scoops, then he's effectively conducted a successful jamming operation on the psyops arm of Azathoth's army.

The last time a president was dumped from the ticket by his party was 1856. The bully pulpit is simply too strong to give up no matter how bad the candidate.

    A few take aways.

If this election were held again tomorrow, Roy moore wins by ten percent. And that's because I think enough Republicans decided to stay pure-and-holy by not voting for him because they assumed The Judge was ahead by five or ten points - per the last polls - and therefore they didn't need to dirty their dainty paws.

The polling again this cycle sucked. And that's because we all know that political polls are simply conducted in order to pressure public opinion, not reflect it.

Bannon and Company just need to fucking go away. If the guy were a Clinton Democrat, he'd have already been found on a DC park bench having committed suicide by shooting himself in the back of the head twice.

Trump still knows his stuff politically. Wait, whatchu say? Isn't this election a repudiation of Trump? No, not really. Remember that Trump endorsed Luther Strange in the Republican Primary. And this confused a lot of hardcore Trump supporters since Strange was one of those rascally, mcconnell-backed, swamp, Republican Establishment types. And he might have been. But Strange would have won Alabama with 60 percent of the vote. Assuming an incriminating yearbook signature and 40 year old rape allegations didn't mysteriously pop out of the blue against Strange.

Which brings up another point that Trump probably knew is that moore has historically underperformed in statewide races by orders of magnitude. Like barely pulling in 51 percent of the statewide vote as I saw in one infographic in his Supreme Court race.

If I were Trump, I'd put out a shitpoast Tweet tomorrow - when the vote tally confirms there's no possible way for moore to comeback - saying "See? I told Alabama Republicans to pick Luther Strange and you didn't listen. Sad!"

This race is going to be portrayed as a rebuke to Donald Trump by the media and Democrats and #NeverTrump Republicans (no shit, right?) but it took a remarkable series of events to occur. Rape of underage girls. That was a bridge too far, especially when enough GOP politicians and pundits were quick to jump on the bandwagon saying they believed those allegations. I don't see that strategy working again too many times (unless the allegations are true, granted).

Doug Jones is only going to be Senator for two years and will probably lose re-election in 2020.

This needs to be the wake up call needed for Republicans to get their shit together and start passing some bills that are low hanging fruit. Continuing to dismantle ObamaCare, passing some pro-2nd Amendment bills, immigration reform, etc. The meat-and-potatoes GOP platform positions that Congressmen and Senators can go back to the voters and say "See, I did good".

The stuff about all the top level FBI people being corrupt cunts that let the hildabeast walk really has me pissed off. At the corrupt FBI assholes, Comey, Meuler, the Storzk guy, also the press for basically doing zero investigating while Obama was in office, while sucking his dick and acting like he did anything worthwhile, and Obama admin for being both corrupt as fuck as and incompetent. Throw the democrats in for abandoning the first amendment to embrace identity politics, group thing and socialism while fucking over  health care, and I don't think I've ever been as disgusted with politics as I am now.  The republican mainstream guys are no better, hell the democrats have trained them to be polite losers with no fight, so fuck them too!
