BMP-3 nerf did catch me by surprise, but I don't think it will have that big of an impact. Just meant to make people cut back on using them so much I suppose. Gornos losing most of the BTRs is the only thing that strikes me as being a wrong move. I enjoy that they gave out a hefty amount of buffing to tank and vehicle accuracy. I feel like it should have been looked at a bit more though to avoid inconsistencies and other oddities. See: M18 having same accuracy as T-72B. REDFOR still seems to lag behind BLUFOR. Tomcat move was completely unexpected.

Was hoping to get some good play in today with the patch update, but didn't seem too have much success. The community seems a bit divided on the patch as a whole. I personally like a lot of the changes they made, but there's a lot more ideas that I saw put forth that did not appear in the patch notes. I expect another small patch soon to fix some things they acknowledged as being intended not making it, but after that I hope we'll still see some more patching.

Ukrainian Civil War Thread: All Quiet on the Sturgeon Front
Scolopax replied to T___A's topic in Open Discussion
Has there been much activity on the Sturgeon Front lately? Haven't seen all too much here or elsewhere on any actual fighting, but I do see some reports of renewed escalation. -
Here is the full video for the above Of particular interest to me was the mine-clearing/assault-breacher rocket at 2:51. Don't think I have seen or heard of the Norks possessing something like that.

Santorum out too, although I'm not sure how in he was this time around.

There appears to be a working Ha-Go along side that Chi-Ha: Here's another Ha-Go: I know there's a replica or two out there as well. Finally, while I'm on about Ha-Gos, have a look at this one:

The Star Wars Spoiler Thread SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
Scolopax replied to Sturgeon's topic in Fiction & Entertainment
I think flamethrowers would counter lightsabers, but I don't know if flames then could be countered by the force or something. I suppose the force can be used to block pretty much anything a jedi or story writer wants though. -

The Soviet Tank Thread: Transversely Mounted 1000hp Engines
Scolopax replied to T___A's topic in Mechanized Warfare
What is the vehicle in the background, next to the BRDM-2? Can't seem to put a finger on it. Came across this when looking though. PT-76 and *OT-62* with 30mm cannons installed. For what purpose, I don't know.- 5,225 replies

T-80 Megathread: Astronomical speed and price!
Scolopax replied to Vasily Krysov's topic in Mechanized Warfare
Obj. 219 or just T-80 seems right here, going off rangefinder. Lack of side skirts and addition of fake ERA makes it look a bit odd to me. -

Poked around in Hunnicutt's light tank book, and it seems an autoloader for the 152mm was a considered idea. Mounting the 152mm from the MBT-70 was put forward as well.

The Swedish AFV Thread: Not Just Strv 103s
Scolopax replied to LostCosmonaut's topic in Mechanized Warfare
Didn't realize the Swedes were toying with the idea of interweaving roadwheels, especially after everyone else dropped the concept. Here's another oddball: Mine clearing variant of the Strv 103
