Hi hello, Google Analytics referer stalking brought me here. :V I guess I could make a PDF if you want one, shouldn't be too much effort.
Also, I guess I should mention I'm TheFluff on SA.

sp15 posts almost all drawings I find in the WoT forums thread (well, the low quality handheld camera versions, the scans I have to pay good money for we're a bit more restrictive with) but since almost everything else I find is in Swedish I don't post much of it since there's been very little response to the documents posted to my blog. I do have like 15,000 photographed document pages on my Google Drive at this point though and if you speak Swedish I'd be glad to share them - just send me your email address and I'll share the folder with you.

I'm pretty sure the difference in muzzle velocity and pen was kinda insignificant but I can't prove it because it's not declassified yet.
I'm also pretty sure I recall reading somewhere that a feasibility study of upgunning the 103 was done but it was discarded as too expensive.

When it came to rifles, the US really was stuck in the past. However, they would leapfrog everybody later in the 1960s.

I've field-stripped a spectre, and I was surprised at how crude it was.

Dunno how functional they are, but they're sure not pretty.

The magazine design is fucking rad.

That certainly looks like a weapon that would be carried by an anonymous henchman standing around in the background of a super villain's top secret lair. It's the sort of gun that says "I'm wearing a bright blue contractors helmet and silver coveralls but I'm not supposed to look directly at the camera while I shuffle around in front of this forklift". It's the sort of gun that is so imposing, a guy with a toupee and tuxedo armed only with a .32 caliber pistol can shoot me from the distance of most cricket pitches while I spray the Spectre sub-machine gun futilely from the hip causing sparks to fly from the sheet metal siding the hero is hiding behind. It's the sort of weapon that the aforementioned hero wouldn't even deign to pick up as he escorts the buxom love interest through the hanger vault of the top secret lair while he attempts to track down the aforementioned super villain, before an elaborate countdown sequence blows up a recognizable World Heritage Site with a stolen nuclear device.

    Cool find though!

After my endless research binge, I had to take a little break to have some fun, so I read Larry Correia's Monster Hunter Nemesis. Larry's one of those writers who are rather good, but that put themselves in a box. His box is by-the-numbers action/fantasy.

Oh it's fun as hell to read, sure, but I know he's capable of a bit more.

So let me guess. Jack Ryan goes back in time to stop a Russian nationalist from planting a nuclear device at the 1985 Geneva Summit, blowing up Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev. There he teams up with Captain Marko Ramius who was attached as a liaison for the Red Fleet.

And yes, god damnit, this plot works and will bring the series full circle and it makes more sense than Debt of Honor.

For that matter how frequently do you see non-enemy Iraqis? I mean there's a war in a country and the people in that country barely make an appearance like they're an afterthought.

As for the concepts that S-tank beat out, I've only ever seen the FTR writeup:

Chuck Yeager was very good at talking about doing things that would mean Chuck Yeager is a good pilot, no matter what the facts are.

Here's a big old source dump post on the subject of B-36 intercepts: http://www.tank-net.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9510&p=179123. The quote from Magnesium Overcast is there in the book, so I'm confident in the Big Stick quotes being in that one.

I'm not sure why, but I suspect that survivability was a major concern.  Sukhoi's S-37 delta wasn't popular with the brass for the same reason:

That NK-32/NK-321 is a hell of an engine, BTW.  I'm assuming they would have reduced the bypass ratio for a fighter version, but the bomber version delivers an outstanding 55,000 lbs of thrust in afterburner.  That Yakovlev MFI would have had about as much thrust as a rafale or EF-2000, just on one engine.

Alas, not even Chuck Yeager could save tigershark from the specter of unrestricted F-16A sales.

It would have been interesting to see how the F-20 would have stacked up to the gripen; they're very comparable.
