Sturgeon
Down and dirty's how we like it. For mudfighters and mudfighter accessories.Let's start with the Vought V-502, an early American "sturmvogel" from the Vietnam era: Looks to me sort of like a weird cross between a Pucara and an A-10. Khand-e
Just a painting but, a really good looking ground attack plane that, is finally getting it's long deserved retirement.
Sturgeon
The Fantan always struck me as one of those Chinese designs incorporating newer technology into older airframes due to being really poor before the '80s.It's a neat bird, though admittedly my strongest feelings about it from from Silent Thunder: A-10 Tank Killer II. Khand-e
They've incorporated new tech into the Fantan many, many times. The old dog has seen somewhere around 30 variants counting export marks.
Khand-e
Also, sort of unsure if the JH-7B would count as a "mud fighter" as it's not exactly a CAS plane.

Belesarius
The A-1 and A-10 still have my heart. Watching the Warthog do gun runs while watching Restrepo was heartwarming.

A1 Skyraider is a pretty neat plane, and it had a lot of variants. Belesarius
Belesarius
I first got interested in the Skyraider as a Kid reading Vietnam war stories. The amount of times the skyradiers came up in stories with rescue missions stuck in my head. A large ordanance load and long loiter time make for a good CAS/COIN aircraft. And as bad as the movie was, Flight of the Intruder has some great Skyraider action at the end.
