  1. Snowflakes don’t want a guy who opposed Trump before and after the election and has likened the President and his supporters to Neo-Nazis.
  2. If the Republicans dont grow a couple and push through the Kavanaugh nomination, they’re going to be the recipients of the “justice for lynching victims” bill after the voters get through with them.
  3. BUT MUH BLUE... err... GRAVE!!! https://www-m.cnn.com/2018/09/24/politics/florida-congressional-candidate-dead/index.html?r=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F ... Awww. I even feel bad typing that.
  4. Indiana man pistol whips friend over who sang a Bruno Mars song with .38 revolver. https://www.indystar.com/story/news/crime/2018/09/23/argument-over-bruno-mars-song-ends-man-pistol-whipping-his-friend/1404344002/
  5. Reading a few news stories on this, the allegations by Stormy Danials’ lawyer seem... anachronistic. That Kavanaugh ran a rape gang who’d “run train” on chicks? That’s in addition to the lack of corroborating witnesses to back up this new witness who claims to be drunk at the time.
  6. Of FFS!!! It was the 1980s fer chrissakes!!! Next they’re going to accuse him of leading a panty raid, installing closed circuit spy cameras in a sorority, and sleeping with the head cheerleader on a Moon ride while disguised as the star quarterback.
  7. Game Over? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/23/us/politics/kavanaugh-senate-calendar.html Kavanaugh has a calendar from 1982 showing him as either out of town or preoccupied with sports or other social outings; it does not list attending a party at the house mentioned by the accuser.
  8. The main use of Twitter in THE YEAR OF OUR GOD EMPEROR 2. 85 percent: Trump Tweets 9 percent: Trolling celebs 8 percent: Porn 1 percent: Checking our official sources during a tragedy 12 percent: Math is hard
  9. Which makes me wonder about the political strategy used by both the Republicans and Democrats. Are the Republicans a bunch of cucks afraid to confront a #MeToo accuser? Or are. They just giving the woman enough rope to hang herself and the D’s? As for the Dems, do they really think this will derail Kavanaugh or are they counting on enough Republicans to pussy out? Or do they truly believe this helps gin up support in November?
  10. The number of US servicemembers to be positively identified from the repatriated remains returned by North Korea is now two. https://nypost.com/2018/09/22/first-photos-of-2-identified-korean-war-soldiers-released/ So this should probably put to bed the rumor that the Norks had purposefully fobbed off a bunch of phony remains on the gullible Americans.
  11. I know the 1980s were the best decade ever and the peak of human civilization, but this 24/7 news coverage of the Kavanaugh party debacle has been the worst Breakfast Club remake ever.
  12. What are you on about? The Federal Communications Commission essentially works hand-in-glove with the corporations that air content on the public airways. It's a public-private partnership which is essentially voluntary. As for the "seven dirty words" you alluded to, the very liberal US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and a liberal Supreme Court of 1978 upheld that those words were indecent but not obscene but that the FCC regulating them did not violate the First Amendment (or the Fifth). In other words we gots our Freedom of Speech. Wikipedia is shit but... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_dirty_words#Federal_Communications_Commission_v._Pacifica_Foundation And meanwhile you can still say shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am. And the advent of cable television and now streaming, and the demise of broadcast television has made that irrelevant anyway. And how that applies to the leading French opposition politician being sent to a shrink for posting anti-ISIS and anti-Islamic fundamentalist tweets is beyond me. But then I don't live in a country where a Dutch filmmaker is killed for exercising his freedom of speech after criticizing Islamic fundamentalists.
  13. So 3D gun guy has been arrested for having underage sex with a 16-year old prostitute? https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/407771-3d-printed-gun-creator-accused-of-sexual-assault-arrested-in ... And this is why I always hesitate before allying myself politically with “Big L” Libertarians.
  14. Wait, what? French drivers don't undergo eyesight tests when they get their drivers licenses renewed? No wonder why you Frogs are such terrible drivers!
  15. Trying to see the other side of the concentration camp concertina wire fence here. In the US, there is quite a bit of stigma attached to undergoing a psych exam and the whole process of having your mental health brought into question period. Or at least throughout much of the country. I'm wondering if the same stigma is absent in France, where undergoing a psychiatric test is equivalent to - oh I don't know - having your eyesight tested before getting a driver's license?
  16. If Voltaire were alive in France today, he'd be given a psych eval.
  17. Credibility with who? Credibility with people in a profession who stand in a mud puddle while on camera, making believe they're fighting off hurricane force winds? The profession that breathlessly reports on Nikki Haley's curtains and then has to grovel and issue a retraction because the narrative didn't match the carpet? He has credibility in an institution that relies solely on "unnamed sources" for even the most routine of stories and which can't even get the "Who" right when reporting on "Who, What, Where, When, Why" He has credibility in a profession whose trustworthiness with the American public consistently ranks below that of used car salesmen? He has credibility in the DC media/cable news/Sunday talk show crowd which has shown itself to be completely incapable of writing anything factual about the President whether its misreporting on when the Trump campaign having access to Wikileaks emails, or Trump removing the bust of mlk from the White House or even how he feeds a bunch of god damn sacred carp in Japan.
  18. Those are some Olympic quality mental gymnastics. And this is why we can't have a grown-up discussion with Trump haters. The White House floated the Trillion Dollar Coin as a valid strategy. It was reported on by just about every single news outlet in the US. Sure, they dismissed it but only because cooler and/or more rationale heads prevailed upon the Obama Administration that it was not only a bad policy because of the danger of inflation, but probably un-Constitutional to boot. But yeah. Woodward wrote some fan-fiction which no one believes because Gary Cohn - a Democrat - failed at his job in the White House. FFS.
  19. I love how people have the attention span of a goldfish in America, particularly the media, and the Left. Because it's not like THIS happened. https://www.businessinsider.com/obama-mint-trillion-dollar-coin-scariest-night-debt-ceiling-2017-1 https://www.forbes.com/sites/kotlikoff/2013/01/19/the-treasury-has-already-minted-two-trillion-dollar-coins/#ac897e069940 https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/a-platinum-coin-as-big-as-the-ritz You read that right. The Obama Administration actively considered, and are on record as such, minting a Trillion Dollar Coin in order to run the federal government for that fiscal period. It was a blatant and unconstitutional attempt to have the Executive Branch usurp the purses strings of the Legislative Branch. And NO ONE batted an eye at the proposal. Other than racist, white cis-gendered Conservatives who were too busy clinging to their guns and bibles. Hell, you had leftist columnists and "intellectuals" like Paul Krugman advocating the Trillion Dollar Coin. So in true Alex Jones-esque logic, minting a Platinum coin to pay off the US debt GOOD. Printing paper money. BAD. Seriously. Does the Left and the media have no institutional memory? As for the Woodward book, it has already been established that he is a humorless git with zero understanding of basic human interactions or the nuance of how normal people speak to each other in a professional or informal setting. What was the context of the conversation Trump supposedly had with his economic adviser? In what setting? What was said before and after? Who was present? Was the president - gasp - joking when he delivered the line about printing money? “We should just go borrow a lot of money, hold it, and then sell it to make money,” Trump reportedly said in response. Because that - in the real world - is what someone making an obvious joke in a meeting sounds like.
  20. Yeah. I was a bit puzzled when I saw that clickbait headline a day or so ago since Willie has never been exactly shy about being a Democrat, and a fairly liberal one at that.
  21. For even further perspective, the Egyptians, Jordanians, Saudis, etc don’t want the Palestinians either.
