    Everybody knows that M-16 IS modified STG-44! So Soviet filmmakers made same thing that those pesky capitalists, but 1000 times cheaper and it was more reliable!

    Automatization. Loader work was first to be automated, according to Soviet tank designers calculations next should be gunner work. IIRC they thought that driver and commander work is hardest to give to non-human systems to do as reliably as human can.

    IDK. Maybe antenna can move to proper position just before launch? Because launching a missile from turret reat and than make it do strange turns is little bit strange for me.

    In that case you increase chances to hit autoloader, and turret in general, which will lead to overall higher number of damaged tanks during battles. 70% of hits, IIRC, during Israel conflicts were turret hits, and this is data for T-72 with its not so big turret.

    Well, puting crew in hull and decreasing turret size have a lot of reasons behind. One of those reasons made Merkava 4 turret so big almost all around, even if it is pretty small from inside.

    T-64BV with part of side armor ERA mounted on turret, AFAIK. No idea how tracks ended up on top of the side armor skirts. T-64BM Bulat (summer combat). Another T-64BV after, IIRC, APFSDS penetrator hit.

    There is nothing to learn from that conflict for tank designers, ironically. All problems with T-64-like MBTs were known years ago. Only thing that this war showed is that Ukrainian ERA "Nozh" is crap. T-72B3 tanks near Debaltsevo. Russians Winter is coming. BMP-2 №46 Just lol. Cage armor and ERA is for stupid Juden-Moskal's.
