Yes, 105 mm APDS from 800 metres distance; same as MBT-70. The US tank concepts (such as LK 10322) from the early 1970s have probably similiar armor thickness (at least the ones with a weight < 50 tons ).

I was informed over another forum by a person highly connected to the military who usually gets first hand information. I believe it didn't get any media coverage.
