  1. nope, i will add more about L2AV, one tip, "complex super-duper structure" doesn't mean that it's good, or even "not so bad", it can be just non optimal(you have a lot of steel, but overall protection level not very high) for example Blohm & Voss uses much simpler structure for L2/3 and L3 with same protection requirements as L2AV(or even look on T-62 with addon plates), and i think serial L2A0/4 get that structure, because L2AV is nightmare to produce... btw, maybe you can translate all parts of weight reduction ? since i uploaded this on otvaga no one tried to translate it full...
  2. W, V, SH(?), HH and without codes...i will add more, but later...
  3. 1976 Leopard 2AV armour(all from declassified reports), bustle spaced armour(12+30) also used on serial Leopard-2 tanks.
  4. 2A4 doesn't have that big thick detail IIRC in lower part
  5. here what Leopard-2AV(and i think 2A0/4) mantlet armour look like in 1976 soon i will upload sort of "article" about Leo2 armour from 1974 up to 1987... weight of this one - 670+38 kg
  6. maybe someone know what does "Beulblech" mean ? Bulging plate ?
  7. DM33 patent(one of) https://patents.google.com/patent/US5133262A/en?inventor=Jurgen+Winkelmann Preferably a more brittle material is employed in the front penetrator region than in the tail region there was also patent about tip machining and hardening process
  8. good photo showing gap between turret and hull "https://www.flickr.com/photos/131561895@N06/27828646347/in/photostream/" btw, this APFSDS displayed at WTD91, i think this is 105mm APFSDS for smoothbore(or early design of 120mm DM13, look at fins) i think @SH_MM even posted patent for this APFSDS some time ago
  9. T-62 with Schotte Nr.1 and Nr.2 vs 64mm HL(Standsprengung) Standsprengung some test SC ? Hull front have Schotte Nr.1 spaced at 80mm from it Hull side have Schotte Nr.2 spaced at 580mm from it https://imgur.com/a/UyHWKWm maybe somebody have info about 64mm SC penetration ? based on Panzerfaust Lanze grenade ? T-62 with Schotte Nr.1 vs 96mm HL(Standsprengung Milan) Hull side have Schotte Nr.1 spaced at 580mm from it https://imgur.com/a/7K6OFoh T-62 with Schotte Nr.1 vs 84mm HL DM32(Carl Gustav) https://imgur.com/a/iUe7WDK T-62 vs 44mm HL DM22(Panzerfaust Lanze) https://imgur.com/a/TN35EdR
  10. Mango-M(BM44-2) for export 280/60 2km Svinets-2(tungsten monoblock) 300mm/60 2km
  11. without testing on ranges from 1.5km and beyond i can't say for sure + L52 APDS i think can kill it from 2km + but one is for sure good quality of steel(doesn't cracked having so much damage from all type of ammo used against) and weld and protection even vs 105mm APFSDS could be achived without having much trouble. from german testing of T-55 in 1970(no any details, just pieces of information, hull was penetrated from 500 meters with DM13 while turret was tested from 500, 200 and 100 meters and have only one or two penetations(no data were it hited etc, only that firing was done at frontal part without +-30 flank angle, straight in the frontal part) and report mentions that in real combat conditions (Israel) the tank really was quite resistant to hits, but without details
  12. yes there is several values, but it is better to give the real quotes and sources references , and not to draw it yourself so that it wouldn't raise questions and suspicions and IIRC there no reports with 200mm for turret side from CE i only seen this images on otvaga
  13. @Molota_477 what is the poin to make fake/collages from real report which doens't contain such schemes ? real report contain only turret scheme and text description for CR1 turret, armour scheme was excluded from this report, only text and scheme of whole turret without protection levels, and report doesn't contain anything about "200mm at normal" and "480mm" IIRC report also doens't give numbers for CR2 turret, only for CR1 MLI(yes it says that turret level more or less similar) but not for Cr2
  14. there was a book about british metallurgy(Military Metallurgy i think), but internal plates of course can be HHS, but i think this is not the case this book IIRC also writes that CR LFP have "composite armour" ?
  15. i think it's aluminium OR non-metall, because there is no point to fasten it with bolts if it's steel + whole structure will be quckly destroyed by incoming hits + weight of that plates CR2 prototype in Bovy have rails even on turret IIRC, serial tanks have this strange plates on turret front and side
  16. so they changed from rails to that aluminum( doesn't look like steel)/non metal backing plates like on CR2 ? you sure that is CR1 hull ? T 225/3237, main problem that there is no detailed info about 5,7(40 and 60 degree cone) and 8(40 and 60 degree cone) inch warheads, what explosive it used, what was the speed of jet etc, thats why real effectivness of all of those "Biscuits" vs real ATGM/RPG not quite clear Late requriments for L2 lets say have similar requriments as L3 in terms of KE, 120mm from 1km IIRC(doesn't have doc at the moment), knowing L3 armour array you can propose what L2 array is
  17. no, only UFP and LFP itself without any addons, without idlers housings, blade etc, even without driver vision block and plate(and without 16mm add-on) for it IIRC upd: UFP(without 16mm addon, without driver plate for vision block and any other additions, but only with tow hooks) + LFP(499kg) - 3517kg, so UFP alone with hooks - 3018 kg
