  1. you can call whatever you want and about so called "credibility", when someone thinks that some tank are 100% better than others, and doesn't think that all tanks are equally shitty, well, that's where your "credibility died" how many claims about superb Leo2 armour was made before Turkish Leo2 get in Syria, and swedish report ? and where all this "credible sources and claims" now ?:)
  2. still don't understand where you can find 400+ but ok
  3. ] maybe i'm wrong, but i don't see any "400+"mm varianst for this measure mantlet itself was designed long before Leop2A4, so it's level of protection could be very low, so i doubt in your optimistic assessment 300mm vs KE
  4. if you take a closer look at the measurements of mantlet done by Militarysta, you will understand that there is no 420, or 400, or even 390mm in it for example...
  5. Soviet BTK-1 and BTK-1Sh used on T-80 have same hardness IIRC
  6. not far from real life steel thicknesses...
  7. Laviduce, about your scheme with 80mm at bustle turret side, Leopard-2 never had plates thicker than 45mm, and turret side - spaced armor with 90mm LOS, not 80mm RHA plate, if you do not believe me, you can knock this part in some museum with your fist (of course, if you do not have the opportunity to use USG) and realize how thin the outer plate is there, main requirement for turret bustle side spaced armor - protection from 14,5mm and 20mm, thats all. and of course turret roof have only 40 and 20mm plates, not 70...
  8. CR2 have lower KE protection than M1A1HA which have 600mm vs KE, so CR1 can't have 620 or 550, and if take some numbers from some british reports about CR1, it's hull front for example have less protection than Shir2 with it's "325mm" but again, all this numbers useless if you don't know which round was used, on which striking velocity etc...
  9. it's strange, report says that hull special armor weight 1249, so "A" part on scheme can't be fuel cell ? but without big fuel cell how far type90 can ride ?
  10. can you upload it somewhere ?(it require a registration)
  11. google "90式戦車" and found this https://www.zhihu.com/question/59141011 scroll down or try to find this "PS:10式" in text about "armor modeling", main idea is simple if you get very complex and not optimized( have irregular thickness on welded constructions)shape of armor module then you might be wrong and btw there is some scheme claimed that hull front - fuel cell, don't know is it BS from modelers, or really Type 90 have this
  12. translated by user North_Eleanor turret special armor weight - 1381kg (690kg on each module) hull special armor weight - 1249kg
  13. you can try to find some armor near the GPS and gunner prism
