  1. Holy shit, I never thought it would come to this. https://www.sema.org/news/2016/02/08/epa-seeks-to-prohibit-conversion-of-vehicles-into-racecars Want to build a racecar, a longstanding American tradition? Well the EPA says no! Im about to go full Yeager on this.
  2. Not sure, but even HK51Ks make a muzzle flash that would make even the most seasoned shooter behold the splendor of the mighty one: Hell, my little HK53 without the flash hider throws a healthy flame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-wySlEdSzA The 4 prong hiders are fucking awesome though. Indoor footage of same gun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOSbUqeFgxQ
  3. G3: G3 Kurz: G3kKurz: G3ÜberKurz masterrace Don's "wahh, I can't cut my barrel down enough" problem has been solved.
  4. For what its worth, a close friend of my family owns a large private equity firm that specializes in the defense industry (he also owned the firm that Chris Kyle worked at prior to his death) and he has tried to make several plays at OSS.
  5. It is very slow (in the zone where it is too slow and too clunky to hold very well on target, but not grease gun slow... hard to explain). The stock and grip have never bothered me, but the fuck huge magazines make any kind of prone or shooting from a rest impossible. I know you normally wouldn't do this with an SMG, but I'm still going to bitch about it. Also on the plus side, they cost half as much as an MP5.
  6. Horrendous recoil impulse, crude sights, low capacity (step back from the damn Thompson), awful trigger, mags that have no bevel or shape to indicate which way goes forward, dumb sight adjustment procedure, horrible on full auto. As a positive though, you can change calibers by tapping out one pin.
  7. Today I learned that HK made weapons for the Nazis and that HK trigger packs are the same as the STG44s:
  8. What did they expect? It is a giant milled block of steel, with a smaller reciprocating block of milled steel, with a barrel and huge chunks of walnut screwed on. Don't get me wrong, I love Thompsons, but I also love driving around Ford Model Ts. I would not take a Thompson hunting, and I would not drive the Model T to work.
  9. That's an issue I'm running into. There are great internet debates as to what rifles have primary extraction and which rifles do not. A la the AK47.
  10. Sure. I suppose it would be good to show the difference between a Mauser and a Carcano or something on camera to display how the bolt handle's interaction with the bridge is hugely beneficial to the system.
  11. Would the Mauser's bolt handle acting against the diagonal cut of the receiver bridge be its source of primary extraction? That has always been my understanding.
  12. Does anybody have a textbook definition of positive extraction? Viewers constantly ask me what the fuck I'm talking about when I mention it and I would like to make a video explaining what it is. It is also discouraging that I was at the Dallas Safari Club show and a Blaser rep stared blankly at me and asked what I meant when I commented on it.
