Chieftain and chally have longitudinal engines, but no fuel stowed either side of them - that space is for the air cleaner and generator. Fuel stowage is all in the sponsons - because those run the entire length of chally, it gets an extra 150 gallons of it (~210 Vs ~360). AVDS-1790 normally has air cleaners outside the hull, of course, and no generator You are correct. A good example:

StuG III Thread (and also other German vehicles I guess)
Xlucine replied to EnsignExpendable's topic in Mechanized Warfare
Just like a universal carrier, only without any armour, less load capacity, has a useless front wheel (it's totally pointless - the handlebars connect to the tracks transmission with linkages for turns) and has 30 parts per track link. -

Aren't they broadly the same under the plastic? G36 melts the trunnions under heavy fire, so it's definitely deserving of the melty title

The Soviet Tank Thread: Transversely Mounted 1000hp Engines
Xlucine replied to T___A's topic in Mechanized Warfare
That turret front hit we see in the first couple of pictures must have at least jammed the traverse - combine that with the damage to tracks preventing the tank pivoting, and there's not much it can do anymore- 5,220 replies

The Soviet Tank Thread: Transversely Mounted 1000hp Engines
Xlucine replied to T___A's topic in Mechanized Warfare
They have T-15, that should be close enough That's much too fast, efficiency drops at high velocities. You'd just have a 1m+ rod at normal speed.- 5,220 replies

Russians are masters of maskirovka! I suspect there should be room for a dismount or two in T-15, due to the layout - it's ideal for a rear hatch. The spaced armour on the front reminds me of ERA mounts on russian turrets, and the angle of the lamppost reminds me of russian dashcam videos

This has been bugging me - if it's true, then it seems reasonable to assume the ground pressure is no greater than that of T-90. And since the tracks are the same width, then we can set an upper limit on the weight using only the relative increase in track length. With this image on my screen the T-72 track on the ground is 11cm long, and the T-14 track is 13cm long, so the vehicle has a maximum weight of about 18% more than T-90 - or about 55 tonnes, going by the T-90S weight from uralvagonzavod. So about the same as a Mk5 chieftain.
