Worst Korean soldier was never taught the decades old known concept of "backblast" it would appear.

How stupid is this idea: Replace 12.7mm HMG with 20mm autocannon firing ammunition like the 20mm SHVAK, giving better lethality against infantry with HE and firing Sabot against AFV´s.
Anyway, I was just thinking of this the other day, and (I'm sure people will jump on me for my supposed bias against anything German), one cannon I really do like as a potential "in between" candidate is the Rheinmetall Rh 202 chambered in 20x139mm.
I think it might have some issues with windowed or lighter vehicles however as it's rather beefy for a 20mm caliber round and I'm not exactly sure of the recoil impulse it has.

Tank drifting needs to be an event at the next tank biathlon.

It's not really speculation at this point, It's all but confirmed that ADVAP M1158 and M1159 are tungsten cored variants of M80A1 and M855A1 respectively.

I kind of wish the SDMR wasn't going to be yet another 7.62x51mm caliber rifle as I was talking to Sturgeon about how it's a round that doesn't really do anything particularly great. maybe follow SOCOM who put up interest for 6.5mm Creedmoor or something which is a much better round for long range precision fire against personnel.
But, standardization and logistics. *shrug*

In Greeley no less.
I guess I shouldn't talk too much shit about Greeley since my new dead great grandparents owned a shit ton of land and a nice little private fishing hole there that I .....think we still have in the family, but....It's Greeley, how can you NOT?

I know that China has centers for testing hypervelocity weapons like rail guns but, I've never heard of any confirmed reports of one being actually mounted on a ship.

But Meplat told me Ulrich Zedrosser was right?!
Or does this just prove everyone can get a single fuckup on their record?
*Remembers that Zedrosser helped design the first "Scout" pattern rifle while working with Steyr at the request of Jeff Cooper......*
Wait, FUCK.

I would laugh SO HARD if they accidentally shipped .40 mags with MHSes.

But the army did select .40 S&W as the winner of the MHS?

Can you just IMAGINE the potential comedy value that could come from this?!

There appears to be two different rocket systems there. The rear obviously fires a line charge, but what about the forward setup? Direct-fire demolition rockets?
Sometimes those pesky fortifications and dug in emplacements have to go.

Mine clearing vehicle?
I've seen that particular rocket clearing system before but, not on that chassis, so new to me, sort of. (usually seen on old, re purposed Type 59s and 69s.)

Keep in mind *most* but not all of those rounds are 1st or 2nd generation, the PLA separates 105mm and 125mm ammunition currently into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation classifications.

If you're referring to Andrei's death wave torpedo, that "could" be something like it I guess, but this was back in the 50s-60s when Hydrogen Bombs were first discovered.
It was called the T-15 and, while it was supposed to be carried on the outside of the delivery submarine due to the massive projected size (1500mm in Diameter), that's probably not it.
-
I don't know, Andrei Sakharov did once propose putting the warhead of the Tsar Bomba in a torpedo in the very early 60's before he turned into an activist, the idea being to clear a naval base or an area of a coastal city with a tsunami before an amphibious landing.
As far I know the idea just stayed on paper though.

In my opinion NORINCO should offer the VT-5's side armor package as upgrade option.
They do offer armor upgrades actually. (As well as some other newer options that didn't exist at the time the VT4 just came out.)
Edit: not sure if it's the exact package as used on the VT5, but extra passive and ERA for the sides and other areas is now offered for the VT4 design to clairify.

CGI video of a danger close interception from either a Type 730 or Type 1130 30x165mm CIWS taking out multiple targets.
Hard to tell, the video runs so fast I have trouble counting the amount of fucking barrels.
