Isn't UKLandPower Drummond's blog?

Yes that is an article he wrote promoting HK rifles in Creedmoor and Creedmoor as a fallback in case 6.8GP fails.

Oh, and that the Creedmoor projectile being adopted by SOCOM was an EPR developed for the 6.5 Textron carbine.

Edit: as a bonus, 5.56 was a fallback for SPIW

As a side note, the US can no longer claim that M855A1 fragments by accident. "A noteworthy feature of the fielding of M855A1 is the inclusion of the terminal effects protocol for testing soft target performance during lot acceptance testing to ensure Soldiers are getting consistent ammunition. The M855A1 is the first round to undergo such a rigorous test during lot acceptance." (An Army Outgunned-A Response Anonymous. Military Review; Fort Leavenworth Vol. 92, Iss. 6, (Nov/Dec 2012): 102-103.) Not that we ever should have, mind. Bullets exist to kill, we gain nothing by being bashful about it.

@Donward is writing for the NRA now?

In (semi) defense, I used to know an armed guard who carried a K frame S&W in .32-20.

Famous for drilling an armed robber across a (large) bank lobby, between the eyes, single action.

He drew, thumbed back the hammer, and  punched the guy's ticket.

Now, chances are you see some goof with a SAA, he's a poser. But in some places, he may be just challenging himself.

I know one guy who CC's a cap& ball Remington, I'd not want to fuck with, at anything under 50 yards. (Preferably at 1000+ yards, so I can use a BREN).

Welcome to SH, from another Canuckistani. While we are a documents based forum, and appreciate the additions, the documents thread for firearms is here:

Cheers.

Greetings comrade Belesarius!

Do I repost the links to the PK/PKM manuals in the repository thread?

Thank God, a new Canadian.

Our last one has gotten stale.

After he has visited a friendly re-education center, he will be a new Canadian as well...

Quite likely his service end just before the L85 put into service or just as it was being put into service...
(Which could explain his bias in favor of thurdy cal and/or his bias against SCHV?)

Correct, he served with the L1A1. I've had extensive conversations with him via email and he is pretty insistent on a projectile weight of at least 90 grains/6 grams.
