Where does the Frogfoot sit in all of this?
Substantially better than the A-10, for one thing it's circa 240 km/h faster.

One of the best FailHog pills is to realize that this is a large load by operational A-10 standards:

The link is broken but I saw a claim that the expected life of the A-10 was 2 missions on the Central Front.
Central Front would have been thick with ZSUs, it would have been lucky to survive insertion.

Is it around the level of the A-1? The AX program originated when the A-1 was in use but the end of the line for the A-1 was in sight. The SBD can dive for accurate delivery. Can the A-10 do that?

Oooh, good point. Confirmed: The A-10 is inferior to the Spad.

I would like to introduce the idea of the A-10 Threshold:
This is a concept to determine what technological threshold the A-10 Thunderbolt II occupies. We have determined that it's clearly worse than an A-4, arguably worse than an F-100D, and probably worse than an A-26 Invader.
Discussions are ongoing as to whether it's inferior to the SBD Dauntless. -
Surprised this hasn't been posted here yet, in the dead of night Astra reached orbit early yesterday:
This is a big deal because Astra is a small company of about 100 people, and they reached orbit on their 4th try after a little over 5 years since the company's founding. -

Are we going to do a Morman JDB comp next, or are we going back to cascadia to check back on Norman? Or am I just thinking too far ahead?
Next full comp, which will be no earlier than next year, will be a strike fighter competition.

Interesting details about Dune soundtrack, i cought only few (sisterhood theme for example).
I was not sure why so many people thought the soundtrack was mediocre, it was one of my favorite parts of the movie. -

What you’re doing now, accepting that you don’t know everything, is a more acceptable attitude, but it’s a couple months late. -

I'm trying to be constructive.
So what should I do to, to make my attitude acceptable?
Not our problem, bye-bye.

What the fuck do you think you're doing now?1 hour ago, delete013 said:maybe others are afraid
LMAO projection, much?1 hour ago, delete013 said:Anyway, I hope you don't mind discussing a bit more.
With your shitty attitude? We mind mightily. You've been a banned man walking for months, now.1 hour ago, delete013 said:I've neither knowledge nor a feeling for materials.
It's funny that now you're professing your ignorance on virtually every subject from materials to engineering to what hole the square block goes into, but months ago you waltzed around chewing people out for how "ignorant" you thought they were because they didn't think Tiger was the best thing since sliced bread.

Cascadian 3.54" HEDP, Cascadian BGM-1 tandem ATGM, and Mormon 2"/4" tandem warhead. at various elevations.
We should also note that these are not just nasty surprises the judges are pulling on people, these threats are described in previous competitions (either weapons of the winners, or threats described in other solicitations). Plus, you can simply infer their existence based on the history of the 20th Century.

Surely that's not really him!

I think it would depend heavily on the terrain. Something I only realised about the Stumpy after the competition is that its MMP is ass, so any kind of swampy terrain would be a nightmare for it. On firm, rolling ground, however, I think it could just sling giant HEAT missiles at the Monolith until something gives out.
I notice that most 2247 competitors would probably eat Stumpy alive. Comanche for example has ~530mm RHA pen at 2kyd. Plus Comanche is immune to the 85mm on Stimpy through a generous frontal arc. Kind of funny since Stimpy is supposed to be a later tank.

The LFS knows of reactive armors, and indeed the competition features them heavily.
The opponents of the LFS are however also aware of these armor types.
The only kinds of target against which HEAT is more useful than plain HE is thick monolithic or spaced RHA, but any such target will also most likely feature some layers of reactive armor and so HEAT will not be useful to keep around.
Huh. I didn't realize that was the case. Why don't we see more straight HE in modern MBTs then?

Again not sure why anyone would bother with a plain HEAT round given the prevalence of reactive armors.
I sincerely doubt any of the contestants have any idea what this is about. -
Absolutely brutal judging, btw, respect.
