  1. Ah shit. Those goat-fuckers are in for it now. Rambo will be fighting ISIS in his next movie. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/rambo-to-fight-isis-in-last-blood-sylvester-stallone-confirms-10385923.html The author of the article was trying to be cute by saying Rambo will get bogged down on a war of attrition. Obviously he has never watched the first film. Because in Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well Rambo was the best.
  2. I like how the "butt" Wikipedia page also links to the measurement "faggot" in the "See Also" section. Someone was being clever with the editing.
  3. Given that we live on a big giant sphere, being able to use fractions and numbers divisible by 3, 6, 60 or 360 comes in handy. Also having built stuff with my own hands, knowing the handy tricks of the imperial system makes building a shed easier. But most of all I rebelled as a kid against the propaganda that "LOL, the Imperial/English system is just based on parts of a dead king" when, no, there are real and legitimate reasons it is used.
  4. I think the real battle is not over the accompaniment (jam, jelly or honey) but over the peanut butter itself. Adams vs JIF/Skippy. Creamy vs Crunchy. Peanut butter vs Nutella/Almond Butter et al.
  5. Well, you know I voted Bush & Dick in 2000 and 2004...
  6. Also, I'm a JIF kid. Sadly my wife prefers Adams and the sort of peanut butter where you have to stir, thus creating a sticky unappealing mess.
  7. Fresh white bread and blackberry jam (with seeds). My wife pefers peanut butter on Pilot bread with honey.
  8. Imperial System Uber Alles. Since it actually is designed in a way for humans and our primitive ape brains to quickly grasp units of measure instead of having your entire system based on the property of water and how much volume and weight it takes up.
  9. You need a thrall or two to do that menial cleaning and polishing and use your time for drink and wenching. Hell, we got Slavs here, that's what they're good for. Now do you want the bluff, rotund comic relief like Tied? Or the sly, trickster like Ensign?
  10. The real question is how will it hold up against guys in Toyota Hi-Lux pickup trucks?
  11. It looks vaguely like one of the vehicles you'd get in a knock-off brand of green army men from a more down-in-the-heels discount store.
  12. Did the Iranians stumble across one of Ensign's or Walter's joke postings on WoT featuring models with swapped turrets?
  13. I didn't think Ruskies were into Capitalist citrus fruits what with your climate. I imagine somewhere on an RU server is a debate over the proper way to eat a beet.
  14. "I do not know what weapons they will fight World War 3 with but it will be over the proper way to eat grapefruit" ~ Albert Einstein.
  15. Fortunately Sweden has expended its national energies on creating pop bands.
  16. Rifle: Winchester Model 1895 Carbine: Winchester Model 1894 30-30 Submachine gun: "Mare's Leg" 1894 in .357 Light Machine gun: "The Rifleman's" 1873 Winchester. Heavy Machine gun: Marlin 1895 45-70 Anti-tank weapon: Turnbull .475 1886 Winchester Pistol: Smith & Wesson Model 17 .357 can opener: See Donward's World of Tanks profile on the Top Can Openers of World War 2 http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/327079-the-top-can-openers-of-world-war-2/page__st__40
  17. I'm not saying it's been either. But it takes two to fight proxy wars and the Russkies were every bit as culpable in how they destabilized the region as NATO.
  18. The one guy on the left is trying to do the Macarena.
  19. Not just Germany and Japan. All of Western Europe. Otherwise the Soviets were more willing to fund their brand of expansionism by handing out military hardware to tinpot dictator willing to mouth anti-Western sentiments. For all the crap the US gets for our foreign policy issues, the Soviets trying to export Marxism to Africa, Asia and Latin America has been a disaster for mankind.
  20. The US/Western intervention in Russia is indeed an odd and forgotten chapter in history. I'm wondering if the one rifle, two men myth might be a Soviet invention and pejorative to display how corrupt and inept the Czar's handling of the war was?
  21. There's a couple of coyotes that have somehow made it up here to Bristol Bay. I'm guessing they snuck onto a barge. The concern is they'll displace the native fox population.
  22. HBO's Game of Thrones we've come to agree is terrible at all levels save for the title sequence and Peter Dinklage imp-slapping children. The producers couldn't even get the fight scene right.
