I should mention here that I met a dude years back who successfully hunted a bush pig using a 1911. But that was an animal in the small deer range. And even then, there's a reason he was notable for doing so.

They range from piglets to hogzilla, but 100 kg is usually considered a large hog.

That is about what you see when you go hog hunting here. If you hope to bag more than 2 or so, having a machine gun is terrific.

So for hog hunting should I leave the G3 at home and take a Mauser now? I mean, I'm pretty fast with a bolt gun, but for packs of 25-30 hogs I would prefer select-fire goodness. Would this trigger people?

I nailed a bunch of them in the pack, but this was the only one in the "worth eating" zone.

I also did it from the back of a moving truck which was, dare I say it, pretty cool.

Fuck "ethics" and "sporting" when it comes to culling an invasive species. Kill them in the most efficient way possible as fast as possible. My personal favorite method has become setting a large trap. You can get 5-6 in there and then dispath them with a head shot. 308 vaporizes a hog head at 10 yards.

And yes you can eat them, however when you kill 25 or 30 you are only realistically going to bring back a few. Generally grab a sow that weighs under 100 pounds if you want good eating:

Pigs are an invasive species and yes they must be controlled. But I have ethical issues as a hunter with a bunch of rich fuckers - LOL - using a machine gun and helicopters to hunt animals. 

It sounds silly and excessive to most folks until you realize that hogs literally destroy people's livelihood here in Texas:

Even passing that helicopter hunting bill didn't help much.

Sure, early SMGs had bayo lugs because it was the SOP back then, but when the Uzi rolled I would say it was... questionable.

PS Magazine #689 from April 2010 mentions that all M240B and M240H barrels will ultimately be equipped with single port regulator.  A three port regulator can be retained until it fails inspection.

I believe mine had a 240g barrel, but the gun was papered as a 240b.

My 240 had a triangular plug with three sides labeled 1, 2, and 3.

That translated to fast, faster, and awesome.
