I cannot see that tiny piece of metal being shaved off with the naked eye. That is a bit scary.

I have to concur with the fellow in the comments who wanted to see what the locking block and its engagement surfaces in the frame and slide look like now.
Hmm, let me see what I can do.

Stamp and 922r parts/stock came in for my 805. God damn this thing looks cool:

Romanization often presents these problems. One translator could have used Wade-Giles, whereas another used the Yale system or... like one of the 4 or 5 more.
You often get minor spelling differences depending on the system used, and a "v" to "b" switch is not uncommon.

Lol.
I spent so much money making that review. It will never recoup the costs of a shit pistol and the amount of ammo I shot.
The Galil however is, in my opinion, the greatest AK variant ever made. I mean holy fuck, that gun blew my fucking mind. Not only is it reliable and ergonomic as fuck, but the accuracy was on par with the CMMG mutant I tested. I was shooting legitimate 1.5 moa groups consistently with a 4x optic.
The polymer lower acts like a jet funnel so mags rock in like a boss (no mag lock experienced), the trigger is a solid 6 pound pull, the sights hold zero if you remove and reattach the dust cover, and it just shoots like a fucking dream.

Quite liked this video:
I got probably a dozen emails about that one telling me I'm wrong... somehow. The amount of people denying math and simple physics is hilarious.
My favorite is a dude that emailed me saying my comparisons using 9mm is unfair, and I should have compared the rifle to .45acp instead.

Springfield Armory Model 1903 Semi-Automatic Conversion Prototype Rifle:
"This is a very rare example of a post-WWI Springfield Armory prototype semi-automatic rifle. This rifle was manufactured at the same time that John Pedersen and John Garand were developing and experimenting with their early 1921/22 test rifles and it appears to be an alternate redesign using a standard Model 1903 rifle converted into a primer-initiated semiautomatic type rifle. This design was probably developed internally by Springfield Army as an alternate so they could use up the thousands of standard Springfield Model 1903 bolt action that were sitting in storage after World War I, much like the same logic as the post-Civil War conversions of percussion rifled muskets to allin conversions."

Officer with a P7 in Munich (with an interesting holster I have not seen before):
Also strange to see an MP5 configured with a slim handguard and ambi lower.
-
Ah yes I see. I assumed that the upper receiver was extruded as well, but a closer look reveals otherwise.
-
What about it do you think makes it less optimized?
-
Really? The SCAR, to my eye, looks like it's very better-designed for low cost mass production than the 416. The entire upper is an extrusion with minimal machining, whereas on the HK 416 only the handguard is and the receiver appears to be machined. The entire lower is injection molded, and so would cost single digits of dollars, versus the machined lower on the HK.
I don't think the civilian pricing is reflective of bulk LE/MIL contract pricing at all.
No, certainly not considering that the MSRP of both rifles is about $3,000.
I would be quite interested to find out SCAR government pricing though.
-
H&K can sell the HK 416 en masse for $1,425 as of 2007, but single units can be sold to law enforcement today for $1,650.
I cannot find pricing information on the SCAR, but I would be shocked if it were cheaper than that.

If I could have one firearm from Russia, it would be a PSS.
Damn those are slick.
