    Apparently the K30 was one of the four systems demonstrated at White Sands for the US Army's "maneuver SHORAD". The other three being a Stryker with an Avenger turret, Iron Dome and something from Lockheed.

    I had assumed it would require a longer bullet but had not considered the reduced propellant capacity. I had also assumed the two cores were meant to ensure the jacket fragmented early/reliably.

    With M855A1/M80A1 style ammunition, does the slug really need to be copper? I would think the production costs would be a lot lower by making it out of steel.
