Wow trying to play the Somua is .. like flinging shit at a battleship...

Drunk and trying WOT, again.

Oil cooling works VERY well, in a very small range.. The 1820 was very understressed. They could push/exceed the 1000 HP mark easily when feed decent fuel and cammed/timed properly. Waste heat can be used. I/E P-51, or NACA cowls. Also, my job sucks.

"Propwash". Running one big swirly bit in the wake of another big swirly bit yields all kinds of unfun. This level of unfun increases with the size of the mill, and the size of the prop. The Pfiel/Do335 (for example) was prone to pitch oscillation caused by the two blade-discs interacting. It bordered on unmanageable.

Late to this, but "turbo lag" is a non-issue in aviation. Modern aviation turbosuperchargers would likely blow the heads/intake of a modern car. They are simply huge, and prone to overboost ASL. The downside is that they are slow to drop boost. When you design to supply sea level atmosphere at 30K feet, with few rapid throttle changes, you divorce yourself from what is needed for automotive use.

Ah, so a one off. Still, adds fuel to my long damped model building hobby. Just need to allocate the bench space in the bunker.

Is that scratch, or a kit?

So, my nephew(s) are getting flack while playing WOT on my account. Even while admitting/assuring it's not theirs. WTF, over? And is it wrong to take names and then log on and hunt them? It is MY account afterall.

As a collector of French arms, and being semi fluent in Froganese due to my 70+% Froganoid heratige, I say.."quelle creten feces mangeant".

I know one of my granddads felt very secure with a Beretta '34 he brought back from Italy, resting in his nightstand. One of my uncles still has it. It's an ugly POS. But I bet it's still a functional piece. Me, I have a MkVI Webley by my bed. There is no "cess" like "Excess".

Just like if you let them have parachutes, life jackets or fire extinguishers. There'd be kamikaze plane crashes, passenger liners intentionally ramming icebergs and raging confligrations all over the place!

Meh, once watched a guy use a 20X138mm Lahti on sod-poodles. Just aimed at the base of their little mound, and blew them to fuzzy pate. The local coyotes were much amused at the offerings, but howled at the lack of proper toasts.

Better not let them know that a lot of my late relatives used to take "government beef" using a .22 single shot. Who knows, the DOD might decide that odd contrivance of Willams' is a suitable replacement for the M2.

While a absurdly sturdy AC mill, the Wright is a pain to deal with in armored installations. I suspect a lot of the "unreliability" stemmed from "Fuck turning it through before we start it" or "Nah, those lower valves don't need adjustment". Same kind of normal human nonsense that cause that fucked up APG report on the T-34.

Now wrap your head around the near quarterly efforts on the part of many shitbird congress-critters to ban the civvy possession of body armor.

A lot of aftermarket EM components are frankly, shit.

Dealt with making a test fixture for a lawsuit, where the guy did just that. Putting a Glock back in a crotch holster, blew one of his nuts off. My first comment was "Dude had his boogerpicker on the bang-switch".. Yep, could not duplicate his supposed "failure of the gun" unless you tried to holster with said nasal probe where it did not belong.
