  1. Footage of crossing at Deir ez Zor:
  2. Indeed, if I were a US citizen I think I might be a lot happier were my local law enforcement sent to the UK for training: Big shout out to the tiny WPC at about 1:30. SWAT teams you can send wherever of course, but local plods?
  3. Personally I'd find this more than a bit worrying (especially if I was black & poor): https://theintercept.com/2017/09/15/police-israel-cops-training-adl-human-rights-abuses-dc-washington/
  4. Jihadi Chunks.....They're dead good!
  5. Any thoughts on Thorium Reactors? The Chinese seem very taken with the concept.
  6. Still love these guys: Hope you can see & more importantly hear them, the editor gave me heebie-jeebies posting this!
  7. It does suggest that 'Rods From The Gods' could be very effective against submarines too.....Assuming you can target them.
  8. D'oh! I only just discovered the 'Good Post' option! Forgot to mention in my post is that I'm from what one might consider the Tories' 'primary-constituency', but what the dumb-shits running that party don't seem to realise is that they have gone too far. They are stealing our money and transferring it to their banker-chums (again) and we know that they are doing it (again).....Bad move.
  9. I'm not sure of the precise translation, but based on similar usage of such phrases elsewhere, I'd hazard a guess at something like "Give us the money now, we'll see if we can make it work later."
  10. Truth. So why can't our media grasp these simple facts I wonder? Oh yeah, because they are owned by the same ***** (proper British swear-word, may seriously offend) who own the politicians. PS - Any chance of getting a plain 'Like' option back? I agree with a few comments in this thread, but 'Metal' doesn't really say it, if you get what I mean.
  11. Being a Brit I don't have a dog in this fight, but if I did, this is what would have decided it for me: An individual capable of making that statement under those circumstances should never, ever be given access to the nuclear codes.....Compared to that any of Trump's Twitter rants are utterly insignificant IMHO. One thing political pundits here in the UK don't seem to get is that Brexit vote wasn't entirely about Brexit.....Frankly I don't really give a toss either way, sure the EU is a monolithic faceless and largely unelected bureaucracy, but I live in the UK FFS, we pretty much invented the concept! I'd probably be better off if we remained in the EU TBH as we have property in Spain, but the opportunity to say a big 'FUCK YOU!' to that ghastly oik David Cameron was just too good to miss, so I did exactly that and so did an awful lot of others. FWIW
  12. Optionally do under £15 UK on one of those T-34s.....Seriously dude, you need to see one up close, it's the best kit I've ever seen straight out of the box (I've got three of the four and keep meaning to buy the one I don't have).
  13. Dammit, I stopped looking at E8.....I've seen stills of at least one of these tanks in action on ML, IIRC it was in US markings and had the Duckbills in situ, which was what drew attention to it in the first place (may have been an eBay find, there are a couple of guys there who specialise in trawling the site for pictures). Sadly Photobucket utterly destroyed any realistic possibility of me finding it again in short order, if I happen upon it by chance you'll be the first to know. PS - Forgot to say cheers for the link, spot on, it has everything I should need, so.....Cheers!
  14. The cast turret looks kind of incongruous surrounded by all that ERA & high-tech-gubbins doesn't it.
  15. I'd say it's turning into an adult's hobby, sure there are kits aimed at kids, but that's probably not where the money's at these days.....The room I'm in right now has, at a guess, roughly two thousand unbuilt 1/72 kits stashed in it.....That represents a shitload of birthday & xmas presents for 'Little Johnny' right there and I'm but one of many with stashes like that. Maybe take a poke around on BM, it's a very, very lively community for a dying hobby and there is some serious talent on display: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/ PS - @Meplat If you want a decent fekkin outstanding model kit at a decent insanely cheap price, get yourself any one of these: Sample review here: http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=1952
  16. Keep hoping Russia might do a Pristina and drop an Air Assault Battalion into Deir ez Zor, keep the 'SDF' and their American chums away from the oilfields.....You know how they can get around oilfields!
  17. Here's an odd one.....I recall a discussion from the Missing Lynx modelling forum about a Sherman subtype with suspension fitted with spacers to allow the use of tracks with double-duckbills, like this: The site where I found the image attributes this as a M4A1 Flamethrower: http://www.odfever.com/folly/Galleries/M4A1/M4A1.htm Here's another picture of a different vehicle with the same spaced suspension & double-duckbills, but with a chevron track: This one is described as an M4A1E6 on this page: http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/m4a3e4/m4a3e4.html But the description doesn't mention the changes to the suspension. Hoping you might know the designation for this type (pretty sure it was a M4A1 variant, E4 or E6 does ring some bells), maybe you have a section on it, I'd quite like to build one as a curiosity.
  18. It's only dying in stores, online the world's your oyster. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me with this T-55 build.....It turns out Trumpeter managed to copy the prototype version of the KMT-5 mine-roller, whereas what I need is the KMT-5M version. Looks like a matter of replacing the endplates & some of the details, the latter of I would have had to do anyway as plastic chain always looks crap (assuming they even bothered to try).
  19. It's not a cheap hobby these days, especially if you want accuracy.....I'm starting in on a 1/72 T-55, I've bought three different kits, two different sets of aftermarket track, aftermarket wheels and a turned gun barrel.....So far: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235026598-first-to-deir-ez-zor/ Like yourself I have to replace a lot of dried up paint, putty, pastels & so on too.....If I have any change out of £100 by the time I'm done it will be a miracle.
