Tripods aren't carried at the squad level anyway, so I don't see much of a difference here.

Speaking of Wanat, that battle is a very good example of M249s and M240s going tits up - which is why the M4s were pushed so hard in the first place. And we won Wanat, overwhelmingly.

Singapore's daily newspaper, the Straits Times (clearly a microaggression towards the LGBTQ community) has a useful photo montage page continually being updated of the Summit.

Crazily, ducks and geese might be one of the ur-forms of birds which predate the death of the dinosaurs.

Radial fins can be turned on a lathe pretty easily, longitudinal fins need a mill with a rotary table (or an extruded aluminium sleeve, for a modern design that wants to show off).

Every single one of these is dated Nov 7, 2016.  Apparently it was a hot topic for all of one day.  No wonder I don't remember it.  Looking at these sources, they are not particularly liberal.   Lets go through them.

    1.  The ABA Journal.  This is the official journal of the American Bar Association.  I'm guessing it does not have a strong political bent other than being pro-lawyer

    2.  The Telegraph.  Pretty much the paper of record in the UK, generally considered conservative.

    3. The Wall Street Journal.  Generally pro-business and conservative, very conservative editorial page.

    4. Quora.com -  this does not even count as a news source.

    5. Canada Free Press -  I was not familiar with this one, but according to their own description they are "Espousing Conservative viewpoints, cornerstone of which focuses on love of God, love of family, love of country."

    6. Valuewalk.com - I don't know much about this site but it looks like its mostly business news.

I would not call any of these sources "liberal".  To me, it looks like this was a news story that ran for about a day in centrist and conservative media sources and was mostly speculative.  These are not news articles, they are mostly op-ed pieces or legalistic theory-making.

The difference is their use. Nagmasho't is the baseline version with a decently protected superstructure and slightly improved protection. Basically just a Sho't remade to become an APC.

Nagmachon was later developed with a higher superstructure called 'doghouse' with protective armored glass and 7.62mm machine guns. Few versions were made but this one is the latest one to which all were converted:

Nakpadon took armor protection even further and up-armored the front with composite armor instead of the outdated Blazer ERA, got new and better side armor, lower superstructure and better protection for it as well.

A recon version is called Nagmapop:

A Combat Engineering Vehicle is called Puma:

And a specialized (also made in very low quantities) transport for the special engineering unit Ya'alom is called Nakpilon:

All these are used in very low quantities, and only where some unit must have heavy armor but doesn't yet have the Namer.

As everyone knows, modern documentaries are trash. Reduced to mere grout between advert breaks, with the same old stock footage repeated a hundred times, and the same old talking heads repeating conclusions that were debunked in the academic sphere decades ago.

This thread is for proper documentaries, from back before millennials killed the documentary industry corporate media ruined everything. A time when (especially immediately post war) some knowledge of military affairs could be expected from the audience, and veterans were still around to give interviews.

I'll start with The Silent Service: filmed in the late 50's, retelling true tales of heroism in the submarine branch of the US navy during WW2.

These are definitely a product of their time (the footage of the Japanese sailors is often entertaining for the wrong reasons), but still worth watching

    1) How did you get the laws in the first place?
    2) How is this different to people claiming you don't need the second amendment, as the government will never need overthrowing?

I would love for electric motors to result in a return to convertible tanks, like the christie tanks

The situation for wheeled vehicles isn't quite comparable, as you're force limited by the tyres. 4 wheel drive helps with this for cars, but with the inefficiency of the transfer cases and such sapping power. For a tank the drive sprocket is essentially geared to the track, so driving the road wheels wouldn't get you any better transfer of force to the ground (as the tracks will slip long before the drive sprocket shears teeth or skips a tooth for properly tensioned track, and all of the weight of the vehicle is already giving you friction to apply motive force).

One potential benefit is retaining mobility if you lose a drive sprocket, but I'd imagine it would be rare for something big enough to a) hit the drive sprocket and b) not wreck the engine bay. Mines normally damage the front road wheels, and those can be bypassed with short tracking.
