  1. Today on 6:38 PM, 75 years ago, a 2-night raid on Manchester began. 122 people were killed and 426 were seriously injured.
  2. I just did. I'm a bit burned out on WoT for reasons I cannot yet disclose. But holy shit I suck in WT.
  3. Found it on the WoT subreddit. Apparently it's from a news article on Sudan.
  4. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/12/14/cobalt-kinetics-may-have-done-it-again/ Cobalt Kinetics, please stop following me around.
  5. Nathaniel/Alex, do you know whether Katie A was drunk or not when she wrote this 'article'? Wtf is up with that?
  6. Oh nice an anti-arty circlejerk. Mind if I join in?
  7. According to Dutch news websites Turkey is sending troops to Iraq to train Peshmergas(!).
  8. Not exactly "small arms" but still very cool and interesting. A video with a few slow motion shots of the launch of a Spike ATGM. I have not idea how to embed Youtube videos so I'm just going to link it
  9. Sturgeon, you should nag TFB people so they'll accept Paypal for TFB membership. There aren't all that many people with a CC in Europe. Right now I'm running an adblocker, because screw page-wide ads.
  10. At first I thought Google Translate couldn't translate those two words and just romanised them. Then I remembered you're Russian and read the words again. ...wait what?
  11. ...you can't be serious about claiming the Russians couldn't receive the channel the Russians agreed on, can you? You've got to be out of your mind claiming that the Russians purposely chose a channel they could not receive. One of the sources you posted in this thread somewhere stated there were multiple channels. One of which was an agreed on channel between the Russians and Turks. Which was not a standard emergency frequency. That's more or less saying "If you want to talk to me in an emergency situation, email me at bronezhilet@gmail.com!" That happens to be a real email address, but it's not mine and I can't access it. Giving you that email address as an emergency communications channel would be mental. I don't either. I'm on EU and the EU forum is probably even worse. Not that I visit the EU forum though.
  12. Yes, I'm sure the Russians would purposely choose a channel they could not receive.
  13. About the time the Russians were supposed to be in Turkish airspace*. With the numbers the Turks gave NATO the SU-24 was flying around 420 km/h. It looks like the SU-24 was more or less flying around (not on a bombing run or whatever) when it was shot down. Is the cruise speed of a SU-24 only 420 km/h? I find that a bit hard to believe to be honest. If the SU-24 was flying at transonic speeds (~960 km/h) it would have been in Turkish airspace for 7.5 seconds. You have to talk very quickly to authorise a shoot-down in 7.5 seconds. Thoughts? * Whether or not they were actually in Turkish airspace is debatable, but that's not the point of this post
  14. Most likely. The whole Chinese line isn't liked because of the lack of depression. So that's why they're going to change it next patch. Unhistorical as f*ck, but oh well. Meh, it's only like 45 euro.
  15. I just wanted to prove you wrong. They never removed it. They did remove a few other tanks with preferential matchmaking, but the T-34-3 was too shit to be overpowered even with pref mm. Or so they say. I like my T-34-3. It will be even better with 5 degrees of gun depression. What's not to like about 390 alpha damage on a medium with -5 depression?
  16. You should check your WG account about the T-34-3 being "not in the store". Yes, that's why I said "most TDs". Still, I'd rather not drive around too much in a boxy paper tank.
  17. Buy a medium with no gun depression. I'd say get a T-34-3 but that's getting -5 with the next patch. Mediums are a great way to learn maps because you can change position quickly. Not enough gun depression? Quickly drive to another spot. With heavies and most TDs you're more or less bound to the spot you first picked. You can drive away, but you're risking more than with a medium. I personally have no problems what-so-ever with a lack of gun depression, but that's more or less because I have played hundreds of matches in tanks with only 3 degrees of depression.
  18. I'm generally a very agressive player, but that didn't work in the Charioteer. It's a great tank imo but you really need to know where the enemy is before you lay waste to them. I usually camped in the back with it for the first few minutes. Get an idea of where everybody is going, where the enemy is and what their crossfire spots are. Avoid those (d'oh). When you have an idea of where they are, you can plan your assault. You can either stay a bit behind your mediums, which is a great way to provide a good amount of fire support without getting focussed. Or you can try to lead the charge. This is a little trickier because you need to be aware of both your and your enemy's weak and strong points. I myself preferred to stay behind the mediums a bit and provide fire support. The Conway on the other hand... I just yolo forward with that thing.
  19. Are you trying to say that the Russians could not receive the channel they themselves agreed on?
  20. They had a full camp setup on Ruinberg. They picked the wrong spots for their O-Is. I send a few HEAT shells their way to notify them of that fact.
  21. How do you win klanu wars? With artillery of course.
