  1. A warning- If you run into a "Meplat" on a game like WoT, etc, who is acting like a kid, it well may be.

I've decided to let my nieces and nephews play on my account (s), since their parents are very tight about 'net games.

It's just a way for me to be "the evil uncle" while keeping the kids from going crazy with my Brother's credit card.

It's good, it's like an M18 with armor, so you don't have to worry about being machinegunned.   It also goes very fast in reverse.

Speaking of "Reverse" wait til you get the MBT70. Zero to "Plaid" in reverse, quite well.

If you want a bigger car, buy a bigger car, but don't go around telling bullshit lies because you are too ashamed to admit you want a bigger car.

Used to hoon around on horrible North Michigan fire roads in a 240/260/280Z, only time I got stuck was when I broadsided a pine tree.

Some of them totally believe that shit though.  Guns are evil, they actually make you do bad stuff, like drugs in the 80s!

    I'm sadly related to some.

That I've owned firearms since I was old enough to legally do so, and have yet to shoot up a school (or ballpark full of congressmen) has yet to make a dent in the adamantine armor of ignorance they have deployed.

One who is an avid deer hunter was horrified when he saw me showing a cousin my rather nice BYF42 P-38, proclaiming "Who knows how many that has killed!?". (Zero, as I bought it unfired).  My reply was "In my hands? None, so far." and slid it back into it's holster.

This guy is such a fudd he thought my 870 with extended mag tube was "a weapon of war", and had never seen nor handled an AR-15 of any kind til I had my absurd R6700CH MT out. (Great gun if you want a 14 pound AR that will cut ragged holes at 600 yards, and costs $300~$500 more than any comparable AR because of the fucking horse).

Many are still horrified that I "worked in the war-profiteering industry" (As did their parents, my grandparents).

Hot take: the Pontiac Aztek was a decade ahead of it's time.

"The decade it was ahead of is open to debate . Some critics say " it was the best car of the 1920's", whereas others say "No, it was the best car Weimar Germany ever made"..

Recently was bored one day and drew up a simple car design.

For the most part based on the Tesla Model S, Lamborghini Huracan, Mercedes S class and Volvo Polestar 2.

The idea was to make a more aerodynamic car, the front is a continuous tear drop shape instead of a notch for the hood. This is possible since its a BEV.

The rear is a Kammback to maximize performance and design, while still being practical and not ugly.

No side mirrors, just cameras like in the Audi E-tron.

It has a low profile (exaggerated in the drawing)  plastic skirt along its bottom, to protect it from rust, with the bumpers made completely out of plastic/glassfiber.

Door handles slide into the side when the car comes up to speed, in the case of a power failure, they pop out.

It would be flat bottom, with a optional diffuser for better handling, the radiator exhaust if routed down under the car to energize the air, with the help of the Meredith effect.

Windows, and lights are just there for looks, I am not good at drawing those.

    Feel free to scrutinize it.

Does it just come in blue and white with the odd gridded  overlay, or is that just the pilot model?

    Also- Needs more aero/fins.

    Ural truck

Chinese truck with Soviet name, basically.

According to this a lot of chassis parts are Chinese-made. Engine is supposedly YaMZ, although have Chinese parts. Some of fiberglass plastic parts are attached to cabin with cheap self-tapping screws, lol. Parts of bonnet cover are glued to each other. Cabin is same as on Gazel and Gaz Next, not too spacious. Wiring/tubes are open to all kinds of crap. Priced around same as a not bad European truck, people in comments are angry with this Ural.

We just got in a Cummins (lol)  that for the most part is "made in China".

I suggested we find an old Detroit 3-53 or 4-71, and cobble that to the generator, and while it would not "be green" it would likely run for a very, very long time, given the shitastic care given the previous engine (You have to work to kill a 3-53).

It was shot down because a 3-53 (or any 2 stroke diesel ) is "not green" and the company in question gets fat tax bux for using tier 4 diesels. (Which are diesel engines with every conciveable contrivance bolted to them to ensure as swift a demise as possible. I  am sure there is a "Grit Injector" incorporated in there).

Well, my not-so-interesting story. In the past, I visited a place frequently where you can drive different kind of demilitarised AFVs. My first tank drive became quite a... shocking experience :) Well, after a short training, I began to drive along the course. (VT-55 ARV) All went well, I began to feel the vehicle, I was quite confident. Then came a quite large puddle. The instuctor told me in the TPU to slow down. I shifted back to second gear, but kept the engine rpm at moderate levels. What a mistake it was! As I entered the puddle, it quickly became obvious that it is far deeper than I thought. A second later I guess I got more than 50 liters of stinky, cold water in my face. And since it was a hot summer, the cold water had a quite shocking effect on me, needless to say, a very, very unpleasant experience. For a few seconds, I didnt even know where I was. The instuctor just laughed, after all, he warned me to slow down :)

The next time I approached such puddles, I strictly slowed down to idle rpm, and even applied some brake.

Next tile, the trick is to "hatch down,  and hope the seal holds".

(It will, if I worked on it that is. ).

  9. Just dont ask about the first "gathering of eagles" in Arizona, where I lost  all composure and was fawning over a proper BoB  Hurri, and a Mk II Spit.  To where I offered to escort them home, in exchange for  10.000 rounds of  .303" De Wilde  and 5000 rounds of Mk VI explosive Manstopper.

Looks like Lake Michigan. Probably isin't.

Russians I've met "visit" Michigan , and then leave.  Poles seem to love it (and Czechs).

I admit I miss parts of my birthland, but Arizona had far better ranges, and Kentucky has absurdly better fishing and hunting.

  11. Worked on a few bits of armor, some "semi famous".  Like the Littlefield M4A3E2 (Albeit briefly) and their "Swiss Hetzer".

Also did more than a little work on the M-18 Hellcat that appeared in that "The Void" movie that came out (and probably went direct to video) at the same time as "Fury".

An anecdote from it is from my first time working on it.

I was staff on a large MG shoot (Media/Photo/Technical(firearms)), and was trying to sleep on on a friday (the shoot starts noonish friday, we'd been there since thursday morning), and one of my friends asks "You said you were or are an aircraft mechanic, what do you know about Continental radials?".. (Now I'd heard that there was going to be a warbird or three showing up. So I semi lucidly said "hold on"  and threw on my coveralls and boots. Only to find myself diagnosing a no start condition on a M-18.

The gaggle there was about to pull the engine (The M-18 power plant can roll out on rails, but it's still a fucking shitshow, in the Arizona desert) when I showed up and said "Hold the fuck on, lets make sure it has spark, fuel, etc before fucking around with pulling engines".. Yes it had spark. Yes it had fuel, in one tank.. And you could hear the boost pump work.

SO I had a guy sit and listen at each fuel filler, as I blew into the line from the mechanical pump (the boosters are centrifugal). The guy at the full tank heard nothing. The guy at the empty tank "heard waves".  (he was like 12).

"Your fuel selector is not working"  I said.

But the switch works (It's on the firewall under the turret) I was told.

"No, the lever is working. (I hopped on the deck and looked down one of the air cooling grates and saw "Well, your linkage has popped off the selector. Hang on."

One  5/8" socket, innumerable bolts, lots of hanging inverted while my beer baby tried to smother me, and a bit of .040" safety wire later, and the boost pump was delivering fuel to the engine, and the beastie ran.

From then on (til 2015) I was the "defacto/default" driver and/or crew chief on that thing (and approved RKI and things big and tanky).

I've got some material you guys might be interested in from a guy called Jeff.

Partially 3d printed revolving pump action shotgun he's done some work on. While it looks good here it still needs a bit more work from him.

He's also done some really interesting work with home ECM drilling. I've got a link to an album of his short videos and pictures of his progress.

This doesn't include the hobbyist work he's done on DIY nichrome electric primers or the ECM rifling he's successfully been able to do, if you guys are interested I'd be happy to try and post up that material for you, along with any other 3d printed gun tidbits that are relevant.

Oh, a manually actuated Fosbery action, firing 12 gauge.  Kind of neat, in a way.

Personally I'm still looking for  a Remington 31, that I could stuff a mag extension on, and thus commit the trifecta of heresies.
