  1. Comparison between conventional & hybrid cartridge case ammunition, showing the hybrid fired from a 13” barrel having a higher muzzle velocity than a conventional round fired from a 16” barrel.

Only the 13” hybrid perforated the armour plate. The hybrid cartridge case is the same technology in the Next Generation Squad Weapon’s 6.8x51mm ammunition.

The Germany parliament has reportedly rejected the notion to buy the Boxer CRV Block 2 from Australia after the selection of the Redback IFV. Earlier reports suggest that buying Boxers from Australia was twice as expensive as producing them in Germany and was meant to be a compensation deal when choosing Lynx.

Gives an indication on how expensive Boxer CRV is for Australia.

“The ABC can reveal the German and Korean companies bidding for the rescoped program have been asked to provide options for an Australian build, or complete overseas production of the IFVs with local support.”

Reportedly, input costs in Germany have risen significantly due to the denuclearisation of the power grid. This, plus capacity issues thanks to post-February 2022 orders, may make KF41 cheaper to build in Australia than Germany.

  4. The re-pricing activity, evaluation, & negotiation for the 129 is scheduled to take approximately 9 months. Far too early to say which way it’ll go. There’s a real danger that either or both tenderers may decline to participate. There’s also a real chance that any anticipated savings from reducing the buy may not be sufficient to warrant proceeding with the buy.

That article is a bit contradictory. Lynx’s vibrations due to “all metal track”, which points toward rubber band track (Soucy was demonstrated on Lynx, briefly), however Redback had “problems” with its rubber band track (first I’ve heard of this).
