  1. I was hulled down so I'm not sure if it was a random or a really lucky shot. Even so, that KwK40 l/48 shouldn't have been about to penetrate the gun mantlet on the t-34 at that range.
  2. I do like WT, there are just a few gripes that hard to overlook. The economy and the way the tanks handle are among the things that irritate me. Being insta-glibbed in my T-34-57 by a Pz.IV H through the gun mantlet at <1500 meters is another one. The only armored vehicles I've ever driven are M113 variants and a Bradley, which are both in the same weight range as some of the tanks in the game. Tracked vehicles just don't handle that way.
  3. I guess it was just a matter of time before someone did the "git gud" thing. Sorry but the economy of WT sucks, "gitten gudder" isn't going to fix that.
  4. Kind of wondering if I should dump my 3 German tanks and just play US, USSR, and UK lines? The couple million credits would be cool but my Tiger II is the highest tier I have right now (followed by tier 7 US and Russian tanks).
  5. I only play Soviet line in WT and my highest tier is the KV2 and T-34-57 M7 is kind of fun.
  6. This isn't the first time we have shot each others planes down. Once the saber rattling is done, it will cool off. Then we all need to jump in for the big win and rid the world of finger wagging aloha snackbaring fucktards.
  7. I don't care for it either. I've had some really good tiramisu but it's not my "go to" for dessert. With my wife running a dessert based food review/blog, I've had it from some of the best bakeries around, so the quality was never an issue. Italian dessert items just aren't that impressive IMO.
  8. I was an artillery observer for over 15 years and never witnessed anyone being injured or killed while clearing a gun tube. Attending fire support mission briefings on the gun lines, I've seen many misfire clearing procedures take place. It's taken very seriously, check fire is called and everything comes to a halt until the rounds are cleared or the gun is otherwise made safe. FM 3-22.90 covers clearing procedures for 60mm to 120mm mortars, check it out if you like. TM-9-2350-311-10 covers unloading and misfire procedures for howitzers. For howitzer misfires there are certain things the crews can do to remove the primer, powder, and unload the round after the "safe period" but before needing to involve EOD (hang fires are always turned over to EOD) . Mortar rounds are made safe by the crew and stowed someplace at least 100 meters away until they can be disposed of.
  9. If you want some serious pucker material, go down on a gun line when one of them has a hung round or misfire. Even with all the modern equipment and proper ammunition it is pretty scary, I can't imagine doing it with home rolled munitions. Watching some poor mortarman catch a mortar round as they slide it out of the tube or seeing a howitzer crewman ram a 155mm shell back down the cannon tube while someone else removes it from the breach and carries them over to the "dud pit" will make you happy you picked a different job.
  10. Cannoli is probably my least favorite dessert item but that much half assery borders on criminal.
  11. We had the M551 when I was in the 82d. While pretty much a dud of a vehicle we still used it out of necessity. The M8 would have been a welcome addition to the TOW mounted humvees of the anti tank platoons. I'm guessing the 173rd would have liked a little armor around when they jumped into northern Iraq in 2003.
  12. 2s25 also. Actually probably closer to the 2s25 because of the gun.
  13. My anecdotal experience with eating the whole meal was akin to dumping a funnel full of concrete up my ass.
  14. Yeah, I was going to say filling a similar role as the BMD-4M. Giving airborne troops a little more punch to call on.
  15. I played 1 game for the first time since May. We won and I didn't throw anything.
  16. More artillery love. 2s9 2s9 RM-70 BM21 BM21 CAESAR M109A6 2s19 2s19 PzH 2000
