  1. I picked up Stackpole's "Germany's Panzer Arm in WWII", which details thoroughly and exactly why the Germans ended up with quite so many horses.
  2. Hey @Jeeps_Guns_Tanks, what kind of Sherman is this? It's a Firefly, but it doesn't look like a Sherman V or a Sherman I to me. Edit: also this one. I thought Chrysler only built M4A4s, but that looks like an M4A1.
  3. Remember, they axed the whole EU, so now they need to invent a bunch of new dumb bullshit to fill the vacuum.
  4. 20 mm Hispano-Suiza vs PzIII https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XbMHI2BRyJRj9O2rmcG6owH4Dglb8Y9l
  5. The local used book store is closing up, which means great deals. The military history section was sparse, but I scored these bad boys at four bucks a pop. The Canadians at War 1939-1945 is only Volume 2, which means that it starts in 1943. Some alright photos in this one, printed on matte paper, but with slight water damage. Canada and the Korean War was probably the most promising of the three, but the biggest letdown. Almost nothing at all about armour, and even though it's by the Directorate of National Heritage, the photos they have online are in far better quality. Very disappointing. Also there is moderate water damage. Canadians at War, on the other hand, surpassed my expectations. The photos are fantastic, with many high res full page spreads. I don't expect much from the text, but the price was right.
  6. Interesting opinion, considering that a) the Sherman V ended up being the Commonwealth's most numerous tank and b) the Wright engines were the least reliable of them all in 1944 tests.
  7. It's completely different from и or "yi". The best explanation for a foreign speaker I ever heard for ы is the grunt you make when you're punched in the stomach.
  8. StuG IIIIV : the best tank that was not a tank The Panther had money-saving shortcuts in the accounting I've never seen a claim that it took fewer hours to make, just that it cost less.
  9. Hey guys, you know what is great for our tank industry? Making a tank that requires twice as much steel when our metallurgy went to shit.
  10. Why? You'd think they would love to have more German tanks.
  11. Transmission repairs on the Jagdpanther are even more fun than on the regular kind.
