Lord_James reacted to Alzoc in Ukrainian Civil War Thread: All Quiet on the Sturgeon Front
@LoooSeRFirst, I hope you are alright and not concerned by the draft.
How is the public opinion in Russia now that (partial) mobilization has been announced?
It was one thing Putin seemed to be very reluctant to do for a fear of a shift in public opinion.

Yeah, I tried to break up my points to reflect several of the major milestones in aviation history, but I guess that’s what I get for trying to simplify a complex topic while on lunch break.
A ha! But you have forgotten the all important buzz word: HyDrOgEn!!! It doesn’t matter that hydrogen is difficult to produce, annoying to contain, highly reactive to a lot of things you might not want it to react to, AND leaves behind steam which is not only visible to infrared, but also to radar which can completely nullify any stealth features an aircraft might come with, it’s the FuTuRe!!!
On a less satirical note, I wasn’t even going to try and claim that they will try to phase out fossil fuels from aircraft; I already know that’s completely retarded. I was more remarking that jet engine designers might be forced to conform to some emissions standards like in the civilian market. Although that thought is also retarded, sadly it’s not above the realm of possibilities, from my outside perspective at least. Though, if “full stealth” (B2 or F117) were a more industrialized option, that can be scientifically estimated and exploited, slower flying “fighter jets” might still be just as capable as aircraft today.

Incredible scenery of Mars, James. Elon's Mars terraforming programs looks like is on scedule.
In early 2000s i played a demo of Russian game called ZAR, first level of which had landscape like this, but greener. I thought "well that doesn't look real, why there are steps on the hills?" Funny to see being wrong 20 years later.

So, to practice sending photos from my phone to the internet (in preparation for taking pictures of Artemis 2), I'd like to share some pictures of my most recent vacation to Mars. Yup, took one of Elon's rockets and blasted off! Utah is so damn beautiful.
I didn't want to derail looser's family photos thread, so I'll just make this new one.
Flying in
The first stop my family and I made on our trip was on the "wrong side" of Zion, or the less busy side. I loved the red rocks, and the sky was an incredible shade of blue; my phone camera doesn't quite capture that.
There's a whole lot of nothin' between towns and tourist stops, but the scenery is nice.
The next stop was Arches national park, which you need to make a reservation to get into. I took few pictures of the actual Arcs, because I cannot into be bothered.
Next came Dead Horse Point; it's called that because the cowboys use to drive the wild horses up onto the plateau to catch them.
We also visited Goblins state park, where part of the movie Galaxy Quest was filmed.
We went some other random places to. I don't remember which belongs to what, so I'll be lazy and put them all here
And our last stop was at Bryce national park, where I finally saw snow. I was ill prepared for such an event, however...
I would have posted this an hour or so ago, but I honestly got distracted by something on Imgur, which was a nice start to the day.

Lord_James got a reaction from Kristof in Cartels Using Armor-Piercing Ammunition
It may be a case of “we have grenade and rocket launchers, why need API”? Their RPGs already provide them with better anti armored vehicle performance than any AP or API short of a tank gun, so why spend the extra money on something you don’t need?

Please add a description at least for the monuments and statues. That clock tower for example with its strange architecture / columns or that monument with columns on each side of the entrance ... add some info to make pics more informative.
Thank you
