What is this thing that has been incorporated into the radar system

AFAIK it was discussed in the Israeli AFV topic - an IR sensor which detects the launch of the ATGM and switches the radar on so that it doesn't need to be active all the time.

I think that it can determine false threats. It is useful against crappy russian RPGs with "fake" munitions.
