  1. By the way fotona Lird that was first used on M84 -Yougoslav T72 clones , is now being manufactured In iran meanwhile Fotona exited miltary lasers and is now mostly doing medical lasers ,famous for Lasering Kardashians faces and vaginas.
  2. Whole package is rather cheap but from what you can find on the net FMF will be something like 288million$ rest comes from Polish budget and FMF is part of Ukraine budget so paying for T72 and stuff donated to Ukraine. Funding Source: National Funds and Foreign Military Financing (FMF).
  3. Yes i have seen that , and i have writen to them , but so far no reply. It just seems that this Finnish company is retailing a lot of different manufacturers , that is why i asked if this is Russian product if the developer is Nikolai
  4. Is this a Russian product as only webpage i could find is some company in Finnland? I think author is saying it recognises specific devices by their signal , not that it locates them , it just knows from database what kind of laser its detecting , and/or one of the lasers it has in database is the system that is used to find optics . Given only two sensors is can really only indicate left , right or center when both sensors detect the laser , On tanks slightly more capable systems also identify laser types down to rangefinder, targer designator or missile guidance laser in modern units even to exact 'weapon system' that laser belong to. And because there are more sensors it can point out the source to about 5-10° depending of the number of sensors.
  5. No surprise there we had Accuracy issues with Elbit 30mm turrets for AMPV , couldnt hit a broad side of a barn. Latvia is also having issues with Israeli turrets on Boxer.
  6. The DRDO Light Tank will weigh about 25 tons and have a crew of three. The tank is planned to sport a 105mm rifled bore gun. This will be capable of firing FSAPDS rounds with 500mm of penetration, HEAT, HESH and ATGMs among others. The planned gun elevation is between -10° and +42° controlled by an electrically powered gun control system. An autoloader will be provided for the main gun. Secondary armament includes a 7.62mm coaxial gun and a 12.7mm RCWS. Surveillance drones will be integrated with the tank. A diesel engine would be provided which DRDO claims would provide up to 32hp/ton at sea level. The amphibious tank can ford depths of 1.5m. The tank can attain a maximum speed of over 65kmph and will use rubber tracks.
  7. Just wait till they specify some Bollywood upgrades to it
  8. Not particularly well armored , STANAG 2 is AK47 AP round , and level 4 is 14.5x114 , and its kinda unusual in using a 105mm gun and atgm externally mounted. ''The tank would feature all round STANAG Level 2 protection with add-on armour taking it to STANAG Level 4 in the front.''

A new Shahed-133 drone was demonstrated in Iran , Armed with Sadid-345 guided aerial bombs with TV guidance and a range of about 6 kilometers. The drone itself is capable of operating at a distance of up to 1,500 kilometers for 12 hours. Launcher for drones are pickups with drone cradle, which allows launch drones from any straight piece of road.
  10. Doesn't look like laser warning receivers , those are typically either mounted on a mast or distributed around the turret. UVZ should do some shopping in Iran ,Iranians bought Slovenian optic, irradiation sensor and barrel curvature sensors in licence . For tanks with dynamic protection mast mounted Fotona LIRD 4 manufactured by Iran these days would be a masive upgrade
  11. Probably because first internal plate is angled . But still its rather unusual addition if nothing else if hit it will likely blast away tilles its facing , not to mention elevate danger of sypatetic tile explosion In any case i dont quite get it why the B3 still uses that stupid ERA layout with considerable gaps in coverage.I just cant imagine ERA being expensive to make in any shape In any case tre project they should be working on is some heavy APC conversions from old T55-72, at minimum equivalent to BMO-T , but should take a peek at Israeli and Jordanian MBT to-APC conversions.
  12. More Dakka Not sure how they meant to operate these tail guns
  13. Ukraine war is presented as a soccer game , it litteraly being live streamed on MSM that other wise has qualms and warning labels everytime someone says a cus word.
  14. Pandurs selling point is fully protected drivetrain , but at least in previous generation hulls we had some fatigue cracks , hulls then had to some reinforcement plates welded on. But considering off the charts prices of new 8x8 that are nov pushing 30 tons and pretend to be IFVs , it seems 6x6 are in for a revival as lower cost APCs
  15. Given that propulsion components of Artemis are mixed bag of up to 40y old used engines and parts , one of the engines actually has 19 flights on its back since it first flew in 1984 , i would be surprising if there were no hiccups along the way.
  16. Allways amusing to read on how limited access to chips due to sanctions would prevent guided weapons to be built , folks have no clue that most electronic components used in military gear use 80's 90's era chips that might no be limited to latest and greatest in chip manufacturing tech and companies.
  17. Its T80BVM just looks like bustle is there because of the ''bagage'' stuffed inbetween slat armor behind the turret Yatagan
  18. Dabling in alternate reality seems to be the feature of the Ukrainian side these days with politicians medding in the military planing.

Given how large the rotors are for given size of the drone its likely very quiet , but its always a compromise , smaller props are much less wind sensitive but also much noisier.
