DSEI 2023 kicks off today and the first thing I spotted was MHI's CUAV laser mounted on the first MAV prototype.

This is pretty big for Japan especially in terms of potential exports. For the longest time many companies didn't move into the export market because it was seen as risky and not very profitable. Now the government will support efforts for exports during the development process and also modifying existing equipment to match foreign specifications. There a new drive to keep companies in the defense market and providing a safety net for companies that previously saw endeavors as risky. This could incentivize the creation of defense centered companies as well as all of Japan's defense contract companies do it as a side to their primary markets.

Yeah, i thought that this was just "we can slap this thing on a tank". APS is a must at this point. I even can say that current models are starting to get outdated because of FPV drones.

A proposed ERA-equipped K1A1.
 
As you can see by the text this proposal was for the Thai Main Battle Tank program where Hyundai Rotem proposed a "K1A1-TH" where one of the possible upgrades made would have been equipping the K1A1 with ERA to enhance it's armor protection.

The 8th Army Corp during a large combined arms training in the Gangwon-do province. K1E1s and K288s are shown in these pictures.
 

 

The 28th Infantry Division participating in the Freedom Shield 2 Exercise had it's K9s, K55A1s, and K10s (along with other vehicles) traverse a shallow river near Buksam Bridge, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do. Other vehicles such as the K221, K1 ARV, and M48A5K were present but other than some footage showing them in the background, no photos I've seen were taken of them.
