ST-3 105mm Wheeled Assault Gun. Basically a ST-1 with... indirect fire capacity.

If anyone is interested in the history behind the development of Chinese third generation tanks, I strongly recommend this article (written in Chinese):

Chinese 420mm ABM cannon "Avangard-1", developed in late 1960s.
It has a 26 meter long barrel that lauches a 160kg RAP munition.

ZTZ-96A with uncommon rear ERA placement.

To let the actual missile bypass BMD systems, because the decoy would be intercepted instead of the warhead. Decoys were commonly employed in ICBMs since the 70s.

TINDALOS got a reaction from Cobras in Ukrainian Civil War Thread: All Quiet on the Sturgeon Front
I think the reason might be that they are trying to dodge BUK-M1 and S-300's engagement envelop. In 1999 NATO forces launched nearly 400 HARMs against Serbian KUBs and only got to destroy three out of twenty two batteries. And we know that the survivalbility of BUKs are much higher than KUBs...

Then I suggest this author to review NATO's air operation in Kosovo... This whole article is based on the assumption that Ukraine has a "weak" air defence network while in fact it might be the best in Europe (exclude Russia). Seven to eight regiments of S-300PS, aound 70+ BUK-M1, 150+ Strella-10M, 100+ OSA-AKM, and about a thousand MANPADS are no joke. Its armed force is much more better equipped than Iraq and Serbia, plus it might be recieving NATO intel collected from NATO's AWACS assets loitering in Poland every single day.

Oh hey, we have KGB expert here. How many times KGB used attacks on truckers with tire stabbing?

Although I'm not a fan of Putin and definitely not a fan of Assad, Xi, Lukashenko etc, I still appreciate how the whole "liberal rule based international world order" got slowly debunked and dismantled in recent years... I would like to see those Pax Americana preachers' emotion after maybe one month.

In general, some Chinese weibo blogger such as Monochromelody (he is on SH), object 477 (he is also on SH), and 风味磁能原理样机 are well informed and have some quality information regarding Chinese and Russian AFVs. The rest of Chinese internet is just a huge garbage landfill filled with Chinese nationalists fanboy who tirelessly boasting about their "invincible wunderwaffe" and can't take any critics. They are... furious and ignorant for most of the time. Why did I know? Because I am a Chinese myself.

For now, it is bustle for 15 (with a 105 gun) and carousel for 96/99. In the near future? Probably something similar to the T-14, umanned turret plus carousel I guess.

Here is 15's turret without composite armor module:

For comparison, here is 99A's turret with out composite armor module
https://imgur.com/JcPJiMa
You can clearly see that 15 has a pretty pathetic armor, mainly due to the fact that it is not deigned to engage tanks such as T-90S.
The amour (composite plus era) was intended to defeat hand held anti tank weapons and medium caliber auto cannon rounds.

yes the Chinese do looked at the German MTU. At first (in the 80s) when ZTZ-99 was still under intense development they even considered AGT-1500, but for the reason we all knew AGT-1500 didn't become the egine of this chinese tank.
