  1. That was as big an image of it as I could find, and they were all on pintrest only. After looking at it again while fully awake, the idea of it being a dummy gun for a an OP vehicle comes to mind. There certainly seems to be a few more bits attached to the tanks exterior. However, wouldn't those all have been late production vehicles? This is seems to be an earlier one, especially since I now also notice it has the smoke thrower on the turret face.
  2. That was quite the roll-out reveal... I assume that protruding from the turret face is a smoke mortar, which I guess didn't make it to the main production. On the topic of Rams, is this a 75mm gun pictured? I couldn't find anything on the image.
  3. German man is sad because his 251's track broke and he has know idea how to fix it.
  4. S-200 would be a pretty big missile to take a direct hit from though and stay airborne. I'm under the assumption that most F-35 claims coming out of that region are too be taken with a grain of salt.
  5. The Syrians did have a number of them originally, so I assumed the southern rebels were just hiding a few as keepsakes. I saw one twitter account claiming some were shipped from Bulgaria to Saudi Arabia, with the original source of the vehicles being unknown. The one without the wheels on the flatbed in the second video looks recently refurbished, kind of like the one on the boat.
  6. Looks to be a 2 1/2 ton gun truck. I'm guessing M35-base given the front fenders, but I'm not positive. I don't think it's a US design, maybe from somewhere in central America.
  7. That would be CoD: MW2. SCC is actually a prequel to it. CoD 4: MW is a standalone game.
  8. You can kind of make out the dish-shaped vent on the top, which would make it a T-54. This is not present on any T-55s. I assume the lever-arm thing by the mantlet here is/was part of the IR lamp fixture, thus leading to the B designation.
  9. The context I got for the image was that the DUKWs were being tested here in a possible ferry role for moving aircraft ashore in the absence of docks or ports. Some more pics:
  10. From what I remember it was probably modern day for the time of its release. There was a flashback of the Gulf War for one mission.
  11. Right, by looking at who actually does and does not use Arabic, as well as the criteria-fitting users of the Type-59/69/79, I came across it as being a Sudanese vehicle by the name of Al-Zubair 2. It is a domestic vehicle based off of the Type 59D (I suppose that should have been apparent from the get-go). It does seem to exist beyond the model. That one was a nice challenge. After reading up on it a bit, the producers state that it uses a 105mm smoothbore gun. I was unaware anyone made those, but I'm also wondering if maybe it's a typo, as the Chinese 105mm gun is definitely rifled.
  12. The Arabic script has me thinking this is Pakistani stuff, with a further assumption being that the tank on the left is an Al-Khalid. However, our vehicle in question does not look too similar to the Al-Zarrar outside the suspension and driver position. I'd hazard a guess at some sort of further upgrade of the Al-Zarrar (or Pakistani Type 59/69/79) with more armor and a new turret that's not a total sham. Looking for more details still. I suspect the model might not be the most exact depiction of the vehicle
  13. I feel sorry for Rose's actor here. This was her first role in a film, and in a Star Wars no less, but she comes out of it by being the middle of a (social) media shitstorm of people angry at her for her character. Apparently there was some online call for a boycott of TFA because of "forced diversity." Link.
  14. I'm curious if LVTs just working well enough was the reason DDs didn't get used in the pacific at all.
  15. The dominoes seem to be exploding more so than falling at this point.
  16. TIL Emperor Hirohito had a thing for marine biology.
  17. The only one that comes to mind in competition with the M8 is the T-34. SU-100 is up there too, but still just a year younger overall.
  18. They still use them apparently. 37mm switch for a 20mm, along with with cosmetic work.
