Renegade334 reacted to Collimatrix in General Metallic Armor Thread
I've seen some papers demonstrating that it can be done at a small scale, but I haven't seen anything saying yea or nay about large-scale, long-term durability. So I don't know for sure.
Assuming that the weld itself is sound, one of the interesting properties about maraging steels is that the heat treatment can be "reset." The strengthening mechanism in maraging steels is the precipitation of tiny inclusions of intermetallic compounds (which is why maraging steels usually have weird shit in them like titanium; that's what helps form the intermetallic). By heating up the steel, these intermetallics can be re-dissolved, the steel cooled back down, and then heated up again to a somewhat lower temperature to re-precipitate out the intermetallics and re-harden the metal.
It is my understanding that doing this will basically erase any HAZ from a weld, although it doesn't get rid of any mechanical defects of the weld if it has incomplete penetration.
This also assumes that you have a big enough oven to fit the entire object that you stir-friction welded together out of maraging steel.

Chanced upon this on imgur: an SPG sound suppressor, at the Military Training Area in Meppen, Germany. Vehicle in question is a M109G.

Looks like a flipped-over FASTDRAW. That turret is guaranteed to have fat cheeks...
The XM91 autoloader on the M1 CATTB had 17 rounds and those were 140mm, though that tank was supposed to have TWO extra carousels (22 rounds, folded) inside the hull for reloads:

That "triple runway" carrier (though only the middle one seems capable of arresting planes) concept at 3:30 looks rather interesting, though for some reason it makes me think of an antique trireme. XD
EDIT: finally posted in the right thread. Goldurnit.

The M109A7 with the ERCA and Auto-loader is to be designated XM1299:

Renegade334 got a reaction from Collimatrix in M8 Buford Is Back
To illustrate Ramlaen's explanation:
P.S. That is, of course, the old XM8, not the current, up-to-date M8.
EDIT: didn't realize Ramlaen had already posted them on the first page, I thought I was just re-posting stuff he had only dropped in the AW forums (RIP, BTW).

Still not known, alas. We suppose it's some sort of anti-IED jammer though I remember seeing pics of an AMPV with that cylinder and a CREW Duke v3, so nothing's certain (unless they cover different parts of the spectrum). It's also suspected it acts in concert with that black bar that's standing next to the driver's hatch.
EDIT: yep, it was an AMPV, Mission Command variant. You can clearly see the Duke v3 antenna behind that cylinder.
EDIT bis:
The only thing I found so far, that remotely looks like that cylinder, is something called the Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (A-PNT) - Mounted / Anti-Jam Antenna System (AJAS): https://asc.army.mil/web/portfolio-item/a-pnt-mounted-ajas/
The antenna cover's texture is similar, but it's obviously squatter.

Well, that's an improvement.
It's made by the same guy (Kwadwo Safo Kantanka) who built these for the Ghanaian military:
That...illuminated human, who also calls himself an "Apostle" and also goes by the nickname of "Star of Africa", also designs...uhm...helicopters:
^--- Note where those tail "missiles" are pointing. Don't worry if you can't even, it's normal.
And he also "designs" indigenous cars that in reality are Chinese cars whose spare parts are imported, then assembled in Ghana.

As for why your URL wasn't working...there is a difference between:

One is a lowercase "L", the other is an uppercase "I".

Larger picture by Damian90 over at AW forums:
Looks like they shaved a lot from the hull, at least compared to the Griffin III. Wonder how much it weighs now, compared to the updated Buford (Level 1 configuration).

Do the three hakenkreuze on the turret signify that it has indulged three times in teamkilling?

US tanks also occasionally have them, not just to protect the crew but also spare the topside equipment (such as antennas or even cameras) from being accidentally shorn off or damaged by low-hanging wires.
Those wire cutters are usually more commonplace on helicopters (to protect the main rotor mast), though.

No, most image queries will be polluted with well-known pictures of the 120S (many of those pics will be screenshots from Armored Warfare; the devs have erroneously used the 120S pics to model their premium "M60-2000"), the Super M60/M60AX, the Magach and/or the Sabra.
EDIT - an interesting detail: another AW forum member, Jarink, suggested the vehicle seen in the background here could possibly be a M1015 Electronic Warfare Shelter Center (based on the M548 chassis) due to the presence of a grounding rod on the front.
^--- M1015 with ELINT-gathering AN/MSQ-103 "TEAMPACK". Note the grounding rod at the front.
^--- M1015 with AN/MLQ-34 "TACJAM" communications jammer. Note the more modern grounding rod with square box, similar to the one in the first picture.
