To be fair, Leclerc has "proper" side armor (even more than Leopard 2A4) at a similar weight. The K2 simply was not build with that requirement.

Majority supports troops and like idea of Ukraine getting fucked. Propaganda from our state medias doesn't really played role in this as much as some people think. Ukrainians politicians and media people turned a lot of Russians from them by their mouths and cameras, or just by having an access to internet. Some people view this as undoing of what commies did with Russian people, drawing a border in places where it shouldn't be and such. 

You invaded another country and you keep turning it into a pile of rubble. You are fully responsible for all what is happening. Don't even try to portay Russia as a victim. Noone was attacking Russia and noone is attacking it even now even though it fully deserves that and the only things which prevents that is nukes.

Trophy rapidly detects, classifies and engages threats such as recoilless rifles, antitank guided missiles, rockets, tank rounds and rocket-propelled grenades. The detection of threats, including their launch location, allows Abrams tank crews to rapidly handle targets.
The kits will be added to M1A2 SEPv2 and M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks as needed, continuing their fielding across the Army. 
“We are honored to have been chosen by the Army to continue to provide this important capability to keep tank crew members and their vehicles safe on the battlefield,” said Gordon Stein, vice president of U.S. operations at General Dynamics Land Systems.

Last year the Swiss Festungsmuseum received two Panzer 87 prototoypes: RUAG's Leopard 2 MLU with full add-on armor kit and a variant with partial add-on armor kit.

Since railguns don't do well regarding rate of fire, the idea is to launch five of those within a 1/10th of a second allowing fire them within one discharge cycle.
With a low dispersion, those rounds could intercept an hypersonic missile at a range of 1 km (which doesn't leave much time for reaction).
 
Last concept presented (no photo here) is a hollow aluminum round used to test the resistance to acceleration (30 000 g) of electronics.
