LoooSeR
https://imp-navigator.livejournal.com/866853.html Quote The Sudanese At-Tayyar newspaper, citing the words of the Sudan’s Rapid Support Force Commander, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, said that 10,000 Sudanese troops have been withdrawn from Yemen in recent months. AP, citing two senior Sudanese officials, confirms the withdrawal, but does not give an exact number of troops withdrawn. It is stated that up to several thousand Sudanese troops will remain in Yemen to train forces supported by the Saudi coalition of President Hadi. Well, it’s interesting that according to Sudanese officials, at its peak in the 2016–2017 war in Yemen, the number of Sudanese troops was more than 40,000! Scolopax
There must have been a hefty sum of Saudi money the Sudanese were receiving to send that many troops over.
LoooSeR
Quote Yemeni Houthis published a raid video on the position of the army of Sudan on October 30. In the Hajj province bordering Saudi Arabia, more than a dozen Sudanese soldiers were killed, 5 were captured. Houthis managed to destroy the BTR-70MB1. Beer
Houthis managed to shot down some aircraft with SAM as seen on the video. They claim that it was a Saudi Apache and that both crew members died.
LoooSeR
Saudi Arabia confirmed death of both crewmembers of this Apache. On top of that: Quote It was also stated that the helicopter was shot down by a new anti-aircraft missile, which will be presented later. In general, judging by the footage, the impression is that the used anti-aircraft complex is quite compact with separate launcher and control center/systems. LoooSeR
https://imp-navigator.livejournal.com/897146.html Quote In recent days, the government of the Yemeni movement Ansar Allah (the Houthis) has reported the successful offensive of their troops against the forces of President Hadi, supported by Saudi Arabia and other coalition countries. The fighting takes place at the junction of the provinces of Sana'a, Marib and Al-Jawf where the forces of the Saudi coalition at one time tried to break through from central Yemen to the Houthi-controlled capital - the city of Sana'a. They did not succeed in making this breakthrough, but now the Houthis seem to have decided to liquidate the ledge formed then deep into the territories under their control and are causing a sensitive defeat for the coalition in this direction. At least the footage they publish shows the defeat there of significant enemy forces with many captured prisoners and weapons. Donward
President Trump has knocked off another terrorist. https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/31/politics/us-strike-aqap-leader-yemen/index.html The United States conducted a strike recently targeting Qassim al-Rimi, the leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the terror group's franchise based in Yemen that has repeatedly expressed interest in conducting attacks targeting the United States, a US official told CNN on Friday. ... Al-Rimi was the target of a 2017 raid the Navy SEALS. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/yemen-raid-had-secret-target-al-qaeda-leader-qassim-al-n717616 “the goal of the massive operation was to capture or kill Qassim al-Rimi, considered the third most dangerous terrorist in the world and a master recruiter. But while one SEAL, 14 al Qaeda fighters and some civilians, including an 8-year-old girl, were killed during a firefight, al-Rimi is still alive and in Yemen, multiple military officials said.” ... “On Sunday, al-Rimi — who landed on the United States' most-wanted terrorist list after taking over al Qaeda's Yemen affiliate in 2015 — released an audio recording that military sources said is authentic. "The fool of the White House got slapped at the beginning of his road in your lands," he said in an apparent reference to the Jan. 29 raid.’” ... And now the “Fool of the White House” has added another scalp to his belt. Democrats and Corporate Media types are no doubt mourning the loss of another austere religious scholar. The scale of Hadi/Saudi defeat in this video is surreal. Only the number of destroyed/captured vehicles is simply insane. I have noticed some stuff our origin among them liek Tatra 810 (with Saudi national guard symbol) or UK-59. In the lostarmour.info website there are lost 49 AFVs counted from the places in the video (including those 19 added already last week and metioned before). LoooSeR
Yuri Lyamin's post about interesting bits from UN report about Yemen. https://imp-navigator.livejournal.com/901100.html Quote /.../ perhaps the most interesting is photo of the unknown missiles that were on the dhows intercepted by the Americans in the Arabian Sea at the beginning of December 2019 (traditional for those places small merchant / fishing vessels, often used for smuggling), on which Iranian arms are being transported to Yemeni Houthis bypassing the blockade. In the first photographs that appeared at that time, among the Iranian ATGM Dehlaviyeh found on the ship, parts of the Noor family’s anti-ship missiles and so forth were missiles unknown to me that I (and not only me) could not identify. It’s generally not a secret that the Iranians can, on the one hand, present and show single prototypes that will never be adopted, and, on the other hand, not advertise for years the development and availability of any systems that were actually adopted and are produced. And in this report, these missiles were shown in close-up, and UN experts also could not identify them, while suggesting that this is possible anti-aircraft missiles.
