  6. It's looking like WG may have a 24 hour sale of the mutant in April. It is on April 1st, but they made the official announcement of the event beforehand, gave a price of $90.00, and streamers got a rental of it to review. Also, memes

  8. Ran by my uncle's a bit ago, will have this guy waiting for me when I'm done with classes this semester. The thing's got a full choke and my uncle seemed fairly confident that they used 2 3/4" shot with it to blast birds. Will doublecheck with a fired shell regardless. I'll probably replace the butt plate too since that rubber is all cracked and dry, but the gun otherwise seems just fine. Found this handy link through google, and I feel safe saying that the 1897 I've got is indeed damascus steel. Link for in depth site over damascus steel here I did find out that double barreled 12 guage shotgun is actually damascus steel, or more specifically, the laminated steel sort (third pic). I don't plan to ever shoot that one or the damascus 1897. I'm wary of the condition of the double barrel regardless and if I've got two 1897s, I'd rather use the one of lesser value.
  9. https://heatst.com/culture-wars/trolls-tear-down-he-will-not-divide-us-liverpool-flag-after-just-one-day/ Season 4 of HWNDU is over, another win for /hwndu/. Shia moved it to the UK because he deemed the US unsafe, but weaponized autism is a global threat. Would these posts be better here, the Trump thread, or elsewhere?
  10. Solid shot AP in WT is terribly underpowered, subcaliber rounds even moreso. The game can also produce some rather questionable bounces or penetrations, like a 37mm AA gun ammoracking a caernarvon frontally or a 122mm APHE shell failing to pen a T-34 with a clear shot to the side since it happened to touch the top of the tracks and ricochet into the immaterial realm. HE, as previously discussed, could have been modeled a little better too. Moral of the story is don't play Brits since only the A1E1 and lend lease tanks get APHE.

  12. Speaking of shotguns, I'm going to be picking up one of my grandfather's 1897s this weekend. I won't be able to do anything about it until early May since I don't think my uni would appreciate me keeping a shotgun on campus. Anyways, the reason I'm posting is I'm curious of if there's any way I could tell if it's safe to fire without taking it to a gunsmith. I know some 1897s were chambered for a 2 5/8" shell, so I'd want to know if mine is like that or if it's for 2 3/4". Any way I could test that? The gunsmith I got forwarded to after talking around is an hour's drive out and sounds like he's a busy guy, so I wouldn't mind avoiding that hassle if I can. Question number two is about solidworks. I've got access to all the Autodesk programs and Mastercam, though Solidworks would cost me $150 if I wanted that. I don't really like torrenting stuff, so would anyone have any free or less expensive alternatives that come to mind? I might try pestering a professor of mine about it since a different major is able to get the program for free here. I've been getting a little more interest lately in how guns work, and messing around with my own designs is always a good way to learn. In other news, TIL that the Royal Nonesuch guy is just a 20 minute drive from where I'm posting from right now. For better or for worse, I'd probably be doing a lot of the same stuff he does if given the chance.
  13. Vid may get deleted, judging by the fate of the original and at least one mirror of it. Also wasn't a livestream, was recorded at least 6 days ago.
  14. Maddow got stumped hard. Hyped up having Trump's tax returns, only to have 2 pages of his 2005 stuff saying he made $150 million and paid $38 million in taxes. Even CNN is saying Maddow was stupid for hyping this nothingburger up as much as she did. It's labelled as a client copy too, so some people are theorizing it was Trump making another move in his game of 6D chess. Obama's was 19%, MSNBC Comcast is 24%.

  16. Meant to post this last night, but the HWNDU stream was moved again, this time to some flagpole in the middle of nowhere, with only the sky and flag in frame. /pol/ still captured the flag in roughly 24 hours, using plane traffic, stars, ambient sounds, and playing marco polo with car horns to find it. This is weaponized autism. It was on some private property near Greeneville, TN. Was replaced with a MAGA hat and a "Alt-right is alright" shirt, though shia's crew took it down within about 20 minutes. Greentext in spoiler

  18. @Conner Webb Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the sight in question is for a grenade launcher.
  19. While we're on the subject, I was one or two steps removed from having a phobia towards ketchup as a child. I'm still no fan of it, but my feelings have become a bit more rational. I guess I didn't like the smell and look of the stuff.
  20. I find it interesting that Pence is as high on there as he is. I always felt like people generally disliked him more than they did with Trump.
  21. I feel like I've heard people mention also liking that the roads were less busy and lines were shorter, though I've not really paid much attention to this strike.
  22. WT I can manage in bursts that are a month or two long, but I don't dare go higher than Pershings and T-44s. Gaijin makes some questionable gameplay and balance decisions too, which really artifically limits the amount of tanks you can play (without wanting to kill yourself).
  23. I don't know why I'm up so late or why I'm spending this time making memes, but I cooked up a few of these just now
  24. With Trump, aren't we supposed to complain about him killing children in Yemen, not Allepo? I thought the former is what we had people protesting over now (which I find odd, considering all the innocents that died when Obama was in office yet only now do #BrownLivesMatter).
