Russian Air Force pounds ISIS at Al-Sukhanah while the Syrian Army advances in western Palmyra

The Russian Air Force has continued its powerful aerial campaign over the vast Homs Desert this morning, targeting the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) movements around Sukhanah-Palmyra Road while the Syrian Armed Forces attack Palmyra’s (Tadmur) western countryside.

The Russian airstrikes have been costly for the ISIS terrorists in east Homs, as they have forced the aforementioned terrorist group to scatter around the desert in order to evade the swarming fighter jets that are relentlessly pounding their positions. Taking advantage of ISIS’ misfortune this morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” and the 67th Brigade of the 18th Tank Division are continuing where they left off on Saturday, striking the terrorist group at the outskirts of Al-Bayarat and the eastern slopes of Jabal Hayyan.

According to the preliminary military reports from the Palmyra front, the Syrian Armed Forces have advanced east from Point 753 towards a new row of hilltops along Jabal Hayyan’s eastern slopes. So far, the Syrian Armed Forces have a number of gains in Jabal Hayyan; however, their advance has not yielded anything significant as of yet.

Meanwhile, northwest of Palmyra, the Syrian Arab Army’s 67th Brigade is attempting clear the Al-Bayarat area where ISIS managed to infiltrate 2 weeks ago. The village itself is clear, but the eastern outskirts remain contested.

The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – backed by the Desert Hawks Brigade and Liwaa Imam ‘Ali (Iraqi paramilitary) – liberated 2 more points in Palmyra’s archaeological zone near Jabal Qassoun after a short battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) this morning.

According to a military source in the Palmyra region, the Syrian Armed Forces captured 2 points near the Ancient Palmyra Aqueduct, which is reportedly located at the southern slope of Jabal Qassoun.

The source added that the firefights between the Syrian Armed Forces and ISIS have intensified after the Russian Air Force concluded their morning airstrikes over the aforementioned terrorist group’s positions.

Also, Palmyra caste is under assault by Tiger forces.

Nusra captures Division 13 headquarters in Ma’arat Al-Nu’man

The Syrian Al-Qaeda groups “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and “Jund Al-Aqsa” have seized the headquarters of the Free Syrian Army’s “Division 13” after an overnight battle for control of this military installation in Ma’arat Al-Nu’man.

With the capture of the Division 13 headquarters, Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jund Al-Aqsa are now in control of all weapons and buildings that belonged to the Free Syrian Army inside this large city in central Idlib. The Free Syrian Army’s Division 13 has confirmed that Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jund Al-Aqsa have seized all of their weapons; however, they did not mention anything about their U.S. manufactured anti-tank TOW missiles.

According to social media activists in support of the Syrian opposition, Jabhat Al-Nusra attacked Division 13 after local demonstrations used the Free Syrian Army’s flag, rather than the Jabhat Al-Nusra banner. Several narratives have been reported, but none of them can be verified.
