A spectacular dashcam video of an autogyro crash near Vyškov, CZ. The pilot, who crashed onto the motorway during a failed take-off from nearby airfield, was lucky. He survived with multiple injuries. The cause of the crash is not yet clear but since the unpaved runway is parallel to the motorway, the autogyro clearly changed direction during the take-off most likely due to torque inballance.

By the way this is the part of the motorway which itself is a spare airfield for the army (hence why only the wire barriers in the middle).

MESA, Ariz., June 30, 2020—Boeing [NYSE: BA] recently delivered its 2,500th AH-64 Apache helicopter, an E-model Apache for the U.S. Army, from the company’s production line in Mesa, Arizona.

The first production AH-64, an A-model Apache, rolled off the assembly line on September 30, 1983, and was delivered by Boeing heritage company McDonnell Douglas to the U.S. Army in January 1984.

It should be clarified that the actual number of Apache helicopters built is lower than 2500 units declared by Boeing, since Boeing also counts the ongoing upgrades of already built aircraft (AN-64A in AH-64D and AH-64D in AN-64E). About 400 were completely new made AN-64D helicopters (including at least 138 for the U.S. Army, at least 166 for export, and 80 licensed production in the UK and Japan), and up to 300 completely new AN-64E ( including 72 for the US Army). Thus, the total number of actually built Apache family helicopters can be estimated at about 1,650 units.
