I don't get it.  What was the big political uproar about the US withdrawing ground troops from the Kurdish areas in Syria?  They're clearly still there.

From part of kurdish territories, now they are under Turkish influence or control, or left "hanging".

Finally I got to the fresh videos of the Idlib barmaleys. And you know, I have sad news!

To begin with, the various terrorist groups in Idlib not only have not been destroyed, but have also recovered their strength after the last defeats a year ago. Solid "Gifts" came to the militants across the border. The militants are now ready for nighttime combat. Volunteers have brought in massively thermals, night sights and night vision devices for ATGMs. From now on at night the Syrians will no longer have the advantage they had a year ago.

The militants wasted no time, and while the joint columns tried to pass along the M-4 highway, they gnawed at the ground. They buried everything they could in the ground, since bombs did not fall on their heads for a whole year. Now we can talk about echeloned defense in Idlib. Today you can't take these defensive midfielders off the bat.

Terrorists are ready and will fight. In their "last battle" they will go to the end. They do not hide the fact that in case of hostilities, Turkey will do everything to save its proxies. The Turkish troops in Idlib will not be an outside observer at all, but will lay out all their ammunition on the advancing Syrian troops. Barmaleys, of course, pray for the "invincible Bayraktar", which will solve all their problems.

The terrorists are not planning to disappear anywhere, they are not even going to change flags, as before. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is working hard to become the Syrian Taliban. They want to wear down the Syrians in a decisive battle and enter negotiations as a political handshakeable force. Turks and Western interested parties are already probing the possibilities of legalizing notorious thugs.

Any unblocking of the M-4 highway is out of the question. The militants say frankly that they will blow up and burn any Russian cars that roll on this land. In short, the war in Syria is far from over. Ahead of us is a general battle, where not only the fate of the legitimate Syrian government will be decided, but also what place Russia will take in the Middle East after the solution of the "Syrian case".

In the East, strength is respected, and the one who shows toughness and knocks out the most favorable conditions for his "clients" - that is what neighboring countries will be equal to. And it is fashionable to expect aggravation on the fronts at the end of spring, right before the presidential elections. And if this coincides with the unfreezing of the Donbas conflict, then Russia will face a serious challenge. And then tough decisions will have to be made.

A year ago, on March 5, 2020, Russia and Turkey signed an agreement to resolve the situation in the Syrian province of Idlib, with a deadline of 6 months (by October 2020) The essence of the agreement is shown on the map.

The Turkish side ensures the withdrawal of anti-government military formations north of the M-4 highway, with the deployment no closer than the northern border of the security zone. The Russian side ensures the deployment of Syrian government forces outside the southern border of the security zone. The M-4 road opens for free movement of vehicles. Patrolling M-4 is organized by joint Russian-Turkish groups.

The Turkish side has not fulfilled the agreement. The gangs have not been withdrawn. The M-4 highway is inaccessible for traffic. Joint patrolling along the entire length of the M-4 is impossible due to shelling from bandit formations, the laying of IEDs by bandits, and the destruction of road infrastructure.

Maybe this will develop into another active operation.

Yesterday night two Tochka missiles with cluster warhead hit an oil smuggling site near Jarabulus at the Turkish borders. The fire has been burning till now. It's second such strike in last couple of month. There are reports about several killed and at least two dozens of wounded.

The attack is here.
