   Military and military-technical cooperation was discussed on Tuesday in Damascus at the talks of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu with Syrian President Bashar Assad, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
   The head of the Russian Defense Ministry made a working trip to Syria on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

 

   "During the meeting, topical issues of military and military-technical cooperation were discussed in the context of the successful actions of the Syrian government troops with the support of the Russian VKS to complete the destruction of the ISIL terrorist group in Syria," the military department said.
   "The issues of stabilizing the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic, the functioning of de-escalation zones and humanitarian aid to the population were also touched upon," the Russian Defense Ministry noted.
   In recent weeks, the Syrian army, with the support of Russian combat aviation, carried out successful operations against ISIL in the vicinity of the cities of Deir ez Zor and Akerbat.

Oil is in SDF interest (see: Iraqi Kurdistan), not for USA as Syria is very small drop of oil in overal sea of world oil market.
