Ignore the gigantic gunsights on the Altay and K2!  They are immaterial!

 

 

Come to think of it though, why are gunner's sights so huge?  I know they have stabilized thermal imagers in them... but so does the EOTS in the JSF and that thing's way smaller and better streamlined.

My best guess is that it is cheaper to make a bulky sight, plus the stabilization requirements for a ground vehicle are harder to fulfil. Further than that I have nothing.

Everything on the tank looks small because the turret is almost the same size as an Abrams's.

Also, it looks smaller than it is because it's recessed behind the armor, so that angle's obscuring some of the glass.

I think it has to do with having at least 50 mm RHA anywhere and 100 mm at the front. I should take a look at other types of armour.

Alright guys, that's as "done" as I care to make it right now.

 

I'll write up a fuaxchure later, probably after my well-earned vacation, in fact.

 

Besides that, I still need to slap on some ERA and maybe add return rollers and machine guns. But it's essentially done.
