Arab Source reporting about recent push by SAA to Kuweris base.

Cheetah Forces Advancing to the Kuweires Airport After Capturing the Strategic Town of Sheikh Ahmad

On Monday afternoon, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Cheetah Forces” – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City and Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions) – broke-through the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) frontline defenses at the strategic town of Sheikh Ahmad in the Deir Hafer Plains and imposed full control over this large area after a series of intense firefights this week.

According to a military source from the Tiger Forces in the city of Al-Safira, the Cheetah Forces and their allies are less than 2km away from lifting the two year long siege at the Kuweries Military Airport; if successful, this will be a devastating defeat for ISIS in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside.

The Cheetah Forces launched this large-scale offensive to lift the siege on the Kuweires Military Airport in early October; and since then, they have captured over 200 square kilometers of territory from the ISIS militants that were deeply entrenched along this volatile front.

The Kuweires Military Airport has been under a two year long siege that was imposed by ISIS; however, with the Cheetah Forces and their allies advancing to the southwestern perimeter of this large base, the siege is expected to end as soon as the pro-government forces break-through the terrorist group’s final line of defense.

Al-Masdar News has been informed that the Cheetah Forces are currently combatting ISIS along the military housing that sits outside of the base; they can be expected to lift the siege soon.

Islamist Rebels Capture Al-Mughayr in Northern Hama

The Islamist rebels from the “Kafr Naboudeh Operations Room” (comprised of 10 rebel factions from Idlib and Hama) have begun their large-scale offensive to capture the Christian city of Al-Sqaylabiyah, striking the National Defense Forces’ (NDF) frontline positions around several sites in northern Hama on Monday.

According to social media activists from the Syrian Opposition and several battlefield reports, the Islamist rebels imposed full control over the village of Al-Mughayr in the Al-Sqaylabiyah countryside after intense firefights with the National Defense Forces; this village was captured by the pro-government forces during their offensive in early October.

In addition to the capture of Al-Mughayr, the Islamist rebels from Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) reported the capture of the Al-‘Abboud Checkpoint, which is located just south of the strategic town of Morek that was captured by the Al-Qaeda faction last week.

The Islamist rebels have recently turned their attention to the northern Hama front after their successful military operations in the Al-Ghaab Plains that border the Latakia Governorate’s Prophet Jonah Mountains (Jabal Nabi Younis).

If the Islamist rebels are able to capture Al-Sqaylabiyah, they will have captured the northwestern tip of the Masyaf Triangle; this area is a gateway into the Tartous Governorate from western Hama.
