Breaking: Syrian Army Captures Jinaan Village from ISIS in Southeast Hama

Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s 66th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces of Al-Salamiyah – imposed full control over the village of Jinaan in southeast Hama after a series of intense firefights with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) along the strategic Salamiyah-Raqqa Highway.

According to a military source from the National Defense Forces in Al-Salamiyah, the Syrian Armed Forces broke-through ISIS frontline defenses at Jinaan after killing several enemy combatants and destroying their headquarters inside this village that has been under the terrorist group’s control for quite some time.In addition to capturing the village of Jinaan, the Syrian Arab Army’s 66th Brigade and the National Defense Forces reportedly captured 6km of terrain along the Salamiyah-Raqqa Highway, marking their largest gains on this front in over eight months; this aforementioned highway is used by ISIS to launch several attacks on the Syrian Armed Forces’ positions in southeast Hama.

Following the recapture of the Khanasser-Ithriya Highway, the Syrian Armed Forces have carried out a number of military operations to clear the area of any ISIS presence; this latest attack was part of the Syrian Arab Army’s contingency along this volatile front.

The Russian Air Force has recently intensified their airstrikes over the east Hama front in order to protect the Syrian Army’s primary supply route to the Aleppo Governorate and to deter the terrorist group from pushing west towards the strategic city of Al-Salamiyah.

News Alert: Syrian Army Launches an Offensive in Northeast Latakia

On Tuesday morning (at dawn), the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Qurdaha, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance) – launched a large-scale offensive in the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad) of northeast Latakia after taking a brief hiatus from this front in order to concentrate on the Turkmen Mountains (Jabal Al-Turkmen).

The Syrian Armed Forces began their assault at three axes in northeastern Latakia: Katf Al-Ghadder, Katf Al-Ghanimah, and Al-Marshwan – these three axes are located to the east of Salma and directly west of the Prophet Jonah Mountains (Jabal Nabi Younis).According to a battlefield report from northeastern Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade is primarily concentrated on the town of Katf Al-Ghadder, where the Islamist rebels from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Free Syrian Army’s “1st Coastal Brigade” are deeply entrenched after having lost this town previously.

The purpose of these three points in northeastern Latakia is to build a larger buffer-zone along the Al-Ghaab-Plains’ vast border with the aforementioned province; if they are eventually able to capture the strategic city of Salma, they will be attack the remaining points in the Kurdish Mountains from the high ground.

Also participating in the large-scale offensive is the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that were stationed in the city of Slunfeh; these soldiers are fighting side-by-side with the Republican Guard and leading the assault.

Exclusive: Tiger Forces to Redeploy to Northern Hama

The Syrian Arab Army’s elite special operations division known as the “Tiger Forces” (Qawat Al-Nimr) have served on several fronts in northern Syria and participated in a number of offensives to regain territory from the Islamist rebels and the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

With their militaristic flexibility and offensive strength gaining them notoriety, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces have become a hot commodity for any government offensive, but their relatively small numbers make it difficult to deploy them to multiple fronts at once.

Luckily, the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Arab Army units in northern Hama do not have to wait long before their relief arrives, as the Tiger Forces are reportedly being deployed to northern Hama after they lift the two year long siege of the Kuweries Military Airport in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside.Once the aforementioned offensive concludes, the Tiger Force’s second largest brigade known as the “Cheetah Forces” will be redeployed, along with their commander Colonel Shady Isma’eel.

According to a private military source in Damascus, the plan is to move the Tiger Forces from the Kuweries front to northern Hama front in order to forestall the Islamist offensive near the Christian city of Al-Sqaylabiyah and to recapture the territory lost in the last two weeks.

Colonel Suheil Al-Hassan (lead commander of the Tiger Forces) will be in charge of the operation, but he will split time between northern Hama and east Homs, where the “Panther Forces” are currently attacking ISIS along the Jazal-Palmyra Road.

The number of soldiers from the Cheetah Forces that are expected to be deployed to this front has not been confirmed; however, it is likely that several hundred could be redeployed to this front in the coming 48 hours if the siege of the Kuweires Airport is lifted.

Looks like they are trying to reinforce a "joint" between 2 army units, which is a weakspot (hard to coordinate).

Cheetah Forces Lift the Three Year Long Siege of the Kuweires Military Airbase

One month ago, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Cheetah Forces” (Tiger Forces branch) began their arduous journey across the Deir Hafer Plains to lift the three year long siege imposed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the Kuweires Military Airport in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Cheetah Forces elite “Team 6 Brigade” – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City and Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions) – broke-through ISIS’ final line of defense at the east Kuweires village and military housing in order to liberate the remaining area and lift this brutal three year long siege.

Over 300 soldiers trapped at the Kuweires Military Airport were greeted by the military personnel from the Cheetah Forces after they liberated east Kuweires village and the military housing; this jubilant event marked the conclusion of this saga.

According to a military source from the Syrian Arab Army, the total number of casualties for the Syrian Armed Forces from this Kuweires Military Airport offensive was 57 soldiers, with another 200+ wounded-in-action (WIA) – ISIS’ casualties could not be verified, but it is likely much higher than the Syrian Armed Forces’ death toll.

With the liberation of the Kuweires Military Airport in the Deir Hafer Plains, the Cheetah Forces will be redeployed to the northern Hama front, where they are expected to help forestall the enemy advance and recapture the territory lost to the Islamist rebels.
