Bronezhilet
Sochi, Formula-1 Interesting, do you have more on this? This is the first time I've heard of snipers being employed at a F1 venue. Maybe it was because Putin attended?
Alex C.
I didn't realize I had shot so much stuff over the past year until I started compiling this.
LoooSeR
Or maybe because Sochi is not far from hot spots of the world?
Khand-e
Or maybe because LoooSeR wanted more photos and sniper was happy to oblige him. The possibilities are endless!

Toxn
Pretty convincing proof (as if you needed any) that the personal minigun is waiting on powered armour before it can become in any way useful as a weapon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5FgePpGFWA Edit: don't bother watching past three minutes, by the way. Sturgeon
Well, yeah, I expect mobile suit armament to initially look a lot like AH-1G armament.
Toxn
Well, yeah, I expect mobile suit armament to initially look a lot like AH-1G armament. I'd expect a mobile suit to be a multistory beacon for every gun/missile in a five kilometre radius, but otherwise yeah.

Collimatrix
What the hell is this? I haven't been able to find anything that looks quite like it. It's not based on a Dragunov; there's no gap between the trigger guard and magazine and the receiver is the wrong shape. It might be a new KK rifle design, or maybe it's one of the new Chinese marksman's rifles I've been hearing about.
Sturgeon
Flash hider says Chinese, magazine says Molot. I have no clue.

Sturgeon
Fuckin LOOOOOOOLnope: • The 6.5mm Super Z is half the size and weight of the 7.62mm and can operate in a much lighter and smaller platform. • Bullets in the 130-140+ grain range will provide improved capabilities in excess of 800 meters from short barrel (M4) weapons. 7.62mm NATO weighs 24 grams. Half that is 12 grams. A 140 grain bullet is over 9 grams. So somehow, magically, this cartridge will combine case, primer, and propellant in a package less than 3 grams in weight.Completely bullshit. Sturgeon
Projectile heat diagram for M80A1 appears to show that the "gap" on EPRs does not cause significant separation of the boundary layer: Lots of cool shit in that presentation. Sturgeon
Another neat presentation on finite element analysis as applied to cartridge case design. All of these courtesy of DE Watters, BTW.
