Jaysh Al-Islam is in Trouble at the Strategic Marj Al-Sultan Airbase as the Syrian Army Captures Al-Ruhba

The Islamist rebels from “Jaysh Al-Islam” (Army of Islam) and the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra”  have had a rough month in rural Damascus and it appears that their string of bad luck is only just beginning as the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard continues their large-scale offensive at the Marj Al-Sultan Military Airbase. in the East Ghouta (collection of farms) region.

On Monday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Damascus City and the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) – carried out a powerful assault on Jaysh Al-Islam’s defensive positions at the village of Al-Ruhba, killing several enemy combatants, while also destroying four armored vehicles that were reportedly mounted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns.

Following a series of intense clashes with the Islamist rebels of Jaysh Al-Islam and Jabhat Al-Nusra, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade and their allies imposed full control over Al-Ruhba and its surrounding farms, marking the first time since 2012 that the Syrian Armed Forces have entered this imperative part of the Rif Dimashq Governorate.

According to a military source in the Syrian capital, the Syrian Armed Forces are in control of three quarters of the Marj Al-Sultan Military Airbase, leaving only the army terrain in their way before they can declare it captured.

Should the Syrian Armed Forces capture the Marj Al-Sultan Military Airbase; this would mark the first time since 2012 that the Syrian Armed Forces imposed full control over this site in the Rif Dimashq’s Governorate’s southern countryside.

Syrian Armed Forces Launch Massive Military Operation to Liberate Maheen in East Homs

Over the weekend, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Sadad and the Assyrian “Gozarto Protection Forces” (Sootooro) – launchced a massive military operation to liberate the strategic town of Maheen in east Homs after the terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) captured it in October of this year.

The Syrian Armed Forces began their assault on Saturday, targeting ISIS’ defensive positions at Jabal Al-Hazzm (Hazzm Mountains), where they were able to impose full control over this rugged area along the Sadad-Maheen Road.

Following the capture of Jabal Al-Hazzm, the Syrian Armed Forces shifted their attention to the small village of Hawareen that is situated just north of Maheen and a few kilometers east of the Syriac Christian town of Sadad in east Homs.

On Monday morning, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) – backed by the Gozarto Protection Forces – struck ISIS’ defensive positions at the small village of Al-Hadath, where they would later impose full control of after a series of intense fights with ISIS.

ISIS is hell-bent on maintaining these gains that were made by them last month; however, they face a series threat from the Syrian Armed Forces, who proved that they are capable of fighting this terrorist group in east Homs.

Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces are attacking ISIS at the northern perimeter of Hawareen; if captured, they will be in position to launch a full-scale on the ISIS-held town of Quraytayn.

Last 300 meters of Damascus-Homs highway were cleaned from Jaish Al-Islam.

1. Militants were pushed to Alia plantations in the north of the Duma.

2. Militants also were pushed from hills near Tell-Kurdi (several production facilities are located here)

3. In the south-eastern part of Ghuta, army took the southern airfield and several other parts of helicopter base Marj al-Sultan.

4. Radar Field, the village itself (Marj al-Sultan village) and the northern airfield is in hands of militants.

Insurgents group Al-Forqat al-Wasiti (included in the list of groups that the United States allowed to be supplied with TOW ATGMs) in Syria, launching anti-tank missiles from the US TOW at US made HMMWV, which have been brought to Syria by the groups of Iraqi Shia militias fighting on the Syrian government side. In my opinion it the first such video from Syria.

Battle footage from Deir Ez-Zor Airport. That airport is similar to Kuweiris - surrounded by ISIS.

If SAA$Co will manage to break ISIS in Palmyra and several other parts/villages/roads nearby, they will open a way to secure Deir Ez Zor in the future.

Breaking: Syrian Army Enters Humaymah Al-Kabeera Village in East Aleppo

Moments ago, the  Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – in coordination with the 2nd Division. the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, and Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions) – have reportedly entered the village of Humaymah Al-Kabeera in east Aleppo after an intense firefight with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at its western entrance this morning.

According to the preliminary battlefield reports from a military source in east Aleppo, the Tiger Forces and their allies have split up at the eastern countryside of the Kuweires Military Airport: the Tiger Forces and the 2nd Division have advanced east towards the ISIS stronghold of Deir Hafer, while another contingent from the 2nd Division and Hezbollah have advanced south towards ‘Aqlat ‘Aqulah.

The military source has added that the Syrian Armed Forces are currently engaged in a violent firefight with ISIS at the western sector of Humaymah Al-Kabeera; however, he was unable to provide any more details due to the ongoing operations.

Humaymah Al-Kabeera is strategically located to the east of the Kuweires Military Airport and to the west of the ISIS stronghold of Deir Hafir; this aforementioned city was considered untouchable two months ago, but now for the first time since 2012, the Syrian Armed Forces are advancing towards Deir Hafer.

It is still unclear whether or not the Syrian Armed Forces will push to the imperative city of Deir Hafer; however, as of right now, they are advancing towards it after entering Humaymah Al-Kabeera this morning.

Iraqi Paramilitary Reinforcements Arrive in West Palmyra to Aid the Syrian Army

On Monday morning, over 400 Iraqi paramilitary fighters from “Kata’eb Imam ‘Ali” (Imam ‘Ali Battalion) arrived in the western Palmyra (Tadmur) countryside after an arduous journey from southern Aleppo to this front in eastern Homs.

According to a member of Kata’eb Imam ‘Ali, the Iraqi paramilitary unit was tasked with the duty to reinforce the Syrian Arab Army’s 550th Regiment and 67th Brigade of the 18th Tank Division that are currently attacking the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the ancient city of Palmyra.

The member of Kata’eb Imam ‘Ali added that more reinforcements are expected to arrive in the coming days, including Iraqi fighters from Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary) and Firqa Fatayyemoun (Iranian/Afghani paramilitary).

The Lebanese resistance organization “Hezbollah” has some of its soldiers at this desert-front in east Homs; however, they are completely outnumbered by the Iraqi paramilitary fighters that just recently arrived to the city of Palmyra.

While these Iraqi paramilitary fighters are not members of a professional army, they form some of the most effective anti-ISIS units in the region; this is likely due to their religious beliefs and close coordination with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Central Command.

In the coming weeks, more Iraqi paramilitary fighters are expected to arrive in Syria, increasing the number of personnel on the ground to well over 6,000 men.

Cheetah Forces to Launch a Large Counter-Offensive in Northern Hama

When the Islamist rebels from Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) captured the strategic town of Morek earlier this month, panic struck the ranks of the Syrian Arab Army’s Central Command: “how could we lost this town so quickly?”

Given its importance and the fact that it took the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Mhardeh almost 9 months to recapture Morek from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra”; this was a legitimate question that begged a thorough explanation.

Ultimately, several factors played into the loss of Morek in the northern Hama countryside, including the massive assault by the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) on the Khanasser-Ithriyah Highway; however, regardless of the excuses, the town was still gone and needed to be recaptured.

Of course, this is easier said than done, but the Syrian Armed Forces have to recover Morek and they have to recapture the villages located north of Al-Sqaylabiyah; this is where the Syrian Arab Army’s “Cheetah Forces” (Tiger Forces branch) comes in to play.

Following their successful military operation to liberate the soldiers besieged at the Kuweires Military Airport, the Cheetah Forces and their commander – Colonel Shady Isma’eel – arrived to the northern Hama just 12 hours after lifting the siege.

Now, the Cheetah Forces and their allies from the National Defense Forces and Hezbollah are preparing to strike back against the Islamist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh at several sites in northern Hama, while the Russian Air Force takes over the aerial operations above this province.

The offensive is expected to begin in the coming weeks; however, a military source stated that it could begin as early as this week – it appears to be contingent on a number of factors, including weather and the military movements of the Islamist rebels.
