Also, what’s with all the direct vision ports; didn’t we learn that periscopes are best for armored vehicles? Or have the Turks had bad experiences with periscopes?

On September 27, the Seoul office of the Turkish Investment Agency said that a contract for a Korean power pack will be signed soon. (DV27K engine + EST15K transmission) Altay tank equipped with Korean power pack will be mass-produced from next year after several modifications.

So it’s a turret drop for both the M60 and T-72, but not offered for the leopard 2? Or they just didn’t bother to make a model for that tank?

currently only for the M60 and T72 but it is also rumoured to be for the Kaplan MT, which FNSS sold to Indonesia, they want to get rid of the Cockerill Turret and offer  a Turkish turret solution

Leo 2 have different upgrade package from Roketsan.

One of the reasons they want to get rid of the Cockerill turret is that it is stupidly expensive and that Belgium has a secret embargoe going on for us , so we say F.U. than we will build our own....FNSS is also said to be working on a turret by themselves for their own vehicles, including for the wheeled vehicles

I know, and there was the (another) leopard upgrade solution with APS in the spoiler, too. I was more remarking that they made 3d models for the M60 and T-72, but not for the Leo despite her significant export success as well. I didn’t see a pamphlet saying “universal turret” or that it was offered for other tanks besides the 2 advertised. @Stimpy75, is there a sales brochure for the MZK turret available to the public? 
 

I’m also impressed by how well Turkey is advancing in the arms department. Does the country get a lot of trade to help pay for all these expensive programs, or is (was) there a lot of foreign assistance to give them a head start?

currently we are standing quite good at exporting, not only military related, although the weak Lira also does help here too...
